'Joy' in the Bible
You have put joy in my heart,More than [others know] when their wheat and new wine have yielded abundantly.
But let all who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice,Let them ever sing for joy;Because You cover and shelter them,Let those who love Your name be joyful and exult in You.
You will show me the path of life;In Your presence is fullness of joy;In Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
O Lord the king will delight in Your strength,And in Your salvation how greatly will he rejoice!
For You make him most blessed [and a blessing] forever;You make him joyful with the joy of Your presence.
And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,In His tent I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy;I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
For His anger is but for a moment,His favor is for a lifetime.Weeping may endure for a night,But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous [who actively seek right standing with Him];Shout for joy, all you upright in heart.
Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication and want what is right for me;Let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, who delights and takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
Then I will go to the altar of God,To God, my exceeding joy;With the lyre I will praise You, O God, my God!
O clap your hands, all you people;Shout to God with the voice of triumph and songs of joy.
Fair and beautiful in elevation, the joy of all the earth,Is Mount Zion [the City of David] in the far north,The city of the great King.
Make me hear joy and gladness and be satisfied;Let the bones which You have broken rejoice.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvationAnd sustain me with a willing spirit.
So they who dwell at the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs [the evidence of Your presence].You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.
The pastures of the wilderness drip [with dew],And the hills are encircled with joy.
The meadows are clothed with flocksAnd the valleys are covered with grain;They shout for joy and they sing.
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,For You will judge the people fairlyAnd guide the nations on earth. Selah.
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You,And my soul, which You have redeemed.
Sing aloud to God our strength;Shout for joy to the God of Jacob (Israel).
My soul (my life, my inner self) longs for and greatly desires the courts of the Lord;My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.
The singers as well as the players of flutes will say,“All my springs and sources of joy are in you [Jerusalem, city of God].”

Light is sown [like seed] for the righteous and illuminates their path,And [irrepressible] joy [is spread] for the upright in heart [who delight in His favor and protection].
Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;Shout [in jubilation] and sing for joy and sing praises.
Let the rivers clap their hands;Let the mountains sing together for joy and delight
He brought out His people with joy,And His chosen ones with a joyful shout,
And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving,And speak of His deeds with shouts of joy!
The Lord is God, and He has given us light [illuminating us with His grace and freedom and joy].Bind the festival sacrifices with cords to the horns of the altar.
Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness (right living),And let Your godly ones shout for joy.
“Her priests also I will clothe with salvation,And her godly ones will shout aloud for joy.
Let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouthIf I do not remember you,If I do not prefer JerusalemAbove my chief joy.
Let the godly ones exult in glory;Let them sing for joy on their beds.
