'Understanding' in the Bible

I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship,

And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding and in knowledge and in all craftsmanship;

“Now Bezalel and Oholiab, and every skillful person in whom the Lord has put skill and understanding to know how to perform all the work in the construction of the sanctuary, shall perform in accordance with all that the Lord has commanded.”

So keep and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’

To know wisdom and instruction,To discern the sayings of understanding,

A wise man will hear and increase in learning,And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel,

Make your ear attentive to wisdom,Incline your heart to understanding;

For if you cry for discernment,Lift your voice for understanding;

For the Lord gives wisdom;From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Discretion will guard you,Understanding will watch over you,

Trust in the Lord with all your heartAnd do not lean on your own understanding.

How blessed is the man who finds wisdomAnd the man who gains understanding.

The Lord by wisdom founded the earth,By understanding He established the heavens.

Hear, O sons, the instruction of a father,And give attention that you may gain understanding,

Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding!Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth.

Wisdom is in the presence of the one who has understanding,But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.

He who restrains his words has knowledge,And he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

A fool does not delight in understanding,But only in revealing his own mind.

He who gets wisdom loves his own soul;He who keeps understanding will find good.

Strike a scoffer and the naive may become shrewd,But reprove one who has understanding and he will gain knowledge.

A plan in the heart of a man is like deep water,But a man of understanding draws it out.

There is no wisdom and no understandingAnd no counsel against the Lord.

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him,The spirit of wisdom and understanding,The spirit of counsel and strength,The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

You turn things around!Shall the potter be considered as equal with the clay,That what is made would say to its maker, “He did not make me”;Or what is formed say to him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?

With whom did He consult and who gave Him understanding?And who taught Him in the path of justice and taught Him knowledgeAnd informed Him of the way of understanding?

Do you not know? Have you not heard?The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earthDoes not become weary or tired.His understanding is inscrutable.

No one recalls, nor is there knowledge or understanding to say, “I have burned half of it in the fire and also have baked bread over its coals. I roast meat and eat it. Then I make the rest of it into an abomination, I fall down before a block of wood!”

And the dogs are greedy, they are not satisfied.And they are shepherds who have no understanding;They have all turned to their own way,Each one to his unjust gain, to the last one.

“Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding.

“For My people are foolish,They know Me not;They are stupid childrenAnd have no understanding.They are shrewd to do evil,But to do good they do not know.”
