"You are to rise in the presence of the elderly and honor the old. Fear your God; I am the Lord.
Likewise, you younger men, be subject to the elders. And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
Gray hair is a glorious crown; it is found in the way of righteousness.
The glory of young men is their strength, and the splendor of old men is gray hair.
Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers,
"Each of you is to respect his mother and father. You are to keep My Sabbaths; I am the Lord your God.
Listen to your father who gave you life, and don't despise your mother when she is old.
Honor your father and your mother so that you may have a long life in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
"If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death. He has cursed his father or mother; his blood is on his own hands.
As for the eye that ridicules a father and despises obedience to a mother, may ravens of the valley pluck it out and young vultures eat it.
For God said: Honor your father and your mother; and, The one who speaks evil of father or mother must be put to death.
For Moses said: Honor your father and your mother; and, Whoever speaks evil of father or mother must be put to death.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, because this is right. Honor your father and mother -which is the first commandment with a promise- that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life in the land.
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing in the Lord.
So Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite replied: I am young in years, while you are old; therefore I was timid and afraid to tell you what I know. I thought that age should speak and maturity should teach wisdom.
Then King Rehoboam consulted with the elders who had served his father Solomon when he was alive, asking, "How do you advise me to respond to these people?" They replied, "Today if you will be a servant to these people and serve them, and if you respond to them by speaking kind words to them, they will be your servants forever." But he rejected the advice of the elders who had advised him and consulted with the young men who had grown up with him and served him.

Even when I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me. Then I will proclaim Your power to [another] generation, Your strength to all who are to come.
I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous abandoned or his children begging bread. He is always generous, always lending, and his children are a blessing.

The people believed, and when they heard that the Lord had paid attention to them and that He had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped.
But if someone hates his neighbor, lies in ambush for him, attacks him, and strikes him fatally, and flees to one of these cities, the elders of his city must send [for him], take him from there, and hand him over to the avenger of blood and he will die.
the young woman's father and mother will take the evidence of her virginity and bring [it] to the city elders at the gate. The young woman's father will say to the elders, 'I gave my daughter to this man as a wife, but he hates her. He has accused her of shameful conduct, saying: 'I didn't find [any] evidence of your daughter's virginity, but here is the evidence of my daughter's virginity.' Then the elders of that city will take the man and punish him.
But if the man doesn't want to marry his sister-in-law, she must go to the elders at the [city] gate and say, 'My brother-in-law refuses to preserve his brother's name in Israel. He isn't willing to perform the duty of a brother-in-law for me.'
The elders who are good leaders should be considered worthy of an ample honorarium, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.
This saying is trustworthy: "If anyone aspires to be an overseer, he desires a noble work." An overseer, therefore, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, self-controlled, sensible, respectable, hospitable, an able teacher, not addicted to wine, not a bully but gentle, not quarrelsome, not greedy-read more.
one who manages his own household competently, having his children under control with all dignity. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of God's church?) He must not be a new convert, or he might become conceited and fall into the condemnation of the Devil. Furthermore, he must have a good reputation among outsiders, so that he does not fall into disgrace and the Devil's trap.
The reason I left you in Crete was to set right what was left undone and, as I directed you, to appoint elders in every town: someone who is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of wildness or rebellion. For an overseer, as God's manager, must be blameless, not arrogant, not quick tempered, not addicted to wine, not a bully, not greedy for money,read more.
but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, righteous, holy, self-controlled, holding to the faithful message as taught, so that he will be able both to encourage with sound teaching and to refute those who contradict it.
Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they should pray over him after anointing him with olive oil in the name of the Lord.

I continued watching in the night visions, and I saw One like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was escorted before Him.
Before the mountains were born, before You gave birth to the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity, You are God.
This is what the Lord, the King of Israel and its Redeemer, the Lord of Hosts, says: I am the first and I am the last. There is no God but Me.
