'Neither' in the Bible
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.
And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.
But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.
And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.
And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.
For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
