That, which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that, which is born of the Spirit, is spirit. Do not wonder that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. As the wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound of it, but knowest not whence it cometh, or whither it goeth; so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily verily I tell thee, Unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, I tell thee of a truth, Unless a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
And if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwelleth in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead, will also restore your mortal bodies to life, by his Spirit that now dwelleth in you.
not for works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his own mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the holy Spirit; which He hath plentifully shed upon us, through Jesus Christ our Saviour: that being justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
But God being rich in mercy, through his great love wherewith He loved us, hath made us alive in Christ, even when we were dead in trespasses, (for by grace ye are saved) and hath raised us up together,
Know ye not, that as many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life: for if we have been planted together in the resemblance of his death, so shall we be also of his resurrection.
And if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
so also is the mystical body of Christ; for by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, (whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free) and are all made to drink into one Spirit:
And when ye were dead in trespasses, and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
But as many as received Him, to them granted He the privilege to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name; who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
who hath of his own will begotten us by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is from God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one, that loveth Him that begat, loveth Him also that is begotten of Him:
and this is life eternal, to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.
All things are delivered to me by my Father: and no one knoweth the Son, but the Father; nor does any one know the Father, but the Son, and he to whom the Son is pleased to reveal Him.
that whosoever believeth on Him may not perish, but have eternal life.
but these things are written, that ye may believe, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life through his name.
For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him might not perish, but have everlasting life: for God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved by Him. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is already condemned; because he hath not believed on the name of the only-begotten Son of God.read more.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doth evil, hateth the light; and he cometh not to the light, least his deeds should be reproved. But he that acts according to truth, cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. After these things came Jesus, and his disciples into the land of Judea: and He stayed with them there, and baptized. And John also was baptizing in Enon near Salim; because there was much water there: and people came to him and were baptized. For John was not yet cast into prison. Now there arose a dispute between some of the disciples of John, and the Jews, about purifying. And they came to John, and said unto him, Rabbi, He that was with thee on the other side Jordan, to whom thou barest testimony, behold, He baptizeth and all the people come to Him. John answered and said, A man can take nothing upon him, unless it be given him from heaven. Ye your selves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but am sent before Him. He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth with great joy at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore my joy is complete. He must increase, but I must decrease. He, that cometh from above, is above all: he that is of the earth, is earthly, and talketh like one of the earth: but He that cometh from heaven, is above all: and what He hath seen and heard, this He testifieth: and yet scarce any one receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony, hath set his seal to this, that God is true: for He, whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God: for God giveth the Spirit to Him not by measure. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all into his hand: wherefore he that believeth on the Son, hath eternal life; and he that obeyeth not the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Verily, verily I say unto you, he, that heareth my word, and believeth in Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come under condemnation; but is passed from death to life.
And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one who looketh attentively at the Son, and so believeth on Him, may have eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jesus then told her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth on me, though he were dead, shall live again.
