The names of the men are: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh; Of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel son of Ammihud; Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon; Of the tribe of the sons of Dan a leader, Bukki son of Jogli; Of the sons of Joseph: of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh a leader, Hanniel son of Ephod; And of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim a leader, Kemuel son of Shiphtan; And of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun a leader, Elizaphan son of Parnach; And of the tribe of the sons of Issachar a leader, Paltiel son of Azzan; And of the tribe of the sons of Asher a leader, Ahihud son of Shelomi; And of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali a leader, Pedahel son of Ammihud. These are the men whom the Lord commanded to divide the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.
And the Lord said to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, Command the Israelites that they give to the Levites from the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and [suburb] pasturelands round about the cities' walls you shall give to the Levites also.
