'Of The Earth' in the Bible

Then God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that crawl, and the wildlife of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.

So God made the wildlife of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and creatures that crawl on the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

for all the wildlife of the earth, for every bird of the sky, and for every creature that crawls on the earth—everything having the breath of life in it. I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.

Then the Lord said, “I will wipe off from the face of the earth mankind, whom I created, together with the animals, creatures that crawl, and birds of the sky—for I regret that I made them.”

Seven days from now I will make it rain on the earth 40 days and 40 nights, and I will wipe off from the face of the earth every living thing I have made.”

and with every living creature that is with you—birds, livestock, and all wildlife of the earth that are with you—all the animals of the earth that came out of the ark.

I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust of the earth, then your offspring could be counted.

Abraham is to become a great and powerful nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through him.

And all the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring because you have obeyed My command.”

I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky, I will give your offspring all these lands, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring,

Your offspring will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out toward the west, the east, the north, and the south. All the peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron: Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, and it will become gnats throughout the land of Egypt.”

And they did this. Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff, and when he struck the dust of the earth, gnats were on man and beast. All the dust of the earth became gnats throughout the land of Egypt.

Why should the Egyptians say, ‘He brought them out with an evil intent to kill them in the mountains and wipe them off the face of the earth’? Turn from Your great anger and relent concerning this disaster planned for Your people.

How will it be known that I and Your people have found favor in Your sight unless You go with us? I and Your people will be distinguished by this from all the other people on the face of the earth.”

Moses was a very humble man, more so than any man on the face of the earth.

for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God. Otherwise, the Lord your God will become angry with you and wipe you off the face of the earth.

For you are a holy people belonging to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be His own possession out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.

any of the gods of the peoples around you, near you or far from you, from one end of the earth to the other—

for you are a holy people belonging to the Lord your God. The Lord has chosen you to be His own possession out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.

“Now if you faithfully obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow all His commands I am giving you today, the Lord your God will put you far above all the nations of the earth.

Then all the peoples of the earth will see that you are called by Yahweh’s name, and they will stand in awe of you.

The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will march out against them from one direction but flee from them in seven directions. You will be an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

The Lord will bring a nation from far away, from the ends of the earth, to swoop down on you like an eagle, a nation whose language you don’t understand,

Then the Lord will scatter you among all peoples from one end of the earth to the other, and there you will worship other gods, of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known.

Even if your exiles are at the ends of the earth, He will gather you and bring you back from there.

His firstborn bull has splendor,and horns like those of a wild ox;he gores all the peoples with themto the ends of the earth.Such are the ten thousands of Ephraim,and such are the thousands of Manasseh.

This is so that all the people of the earth may know that the Lord’s hand is mighty, and so that you may always fear the Lord your God.”

He raises the poor from the dustand lifts the needy from the garbage pile.He seats them with noblemenand gives them a throne of honor.For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s;He has set the world on them.

Those who oppose the Lord will be shattered;He will thunder in the heavens against them.The Lord will judge the ends of the earth.He will give power to His king;He will lift up the horn of His anointed.

Today, the Lord will hand you over to me. Today, I’ll strike you down, cut your head off, and give the corpses of the Philistine camp to the birds of the sky and the creatures of the earth. Then all the world will know that Israel has a God,

don’t ever withdraw your faithful love from my household—not even when the Lord cuts off every one of David’s enemies from the face of the earth.”

But the king said to her, “Don’t be afraid. What do you see?”“I see a spirit form coming up out of the earth,” the woman answered.

I pulverize them like dust of the earth;I crush them and trample them like mud in the streets.

“As for me, I am going the way of all of the earth. Be strong and be courageous like a man,

and so that all the peoples of the earth may know that Yahweh is God. There is no other!

This was the sin that caused the house of Jeroboam to be wiped out and annihilated from the face of the earth.

Then Hezekiah prayed before the Lord:Lord God of Israel who is enthroned above the cherubim, You are God—You alone—of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.

Now, Lord our God, please save us from his hand so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord God—You alone.

Lord God, let Your promise to my father David now come true. For You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.

may You hear in heaven in Your dwelling place,and do all the foreigner asks You.Then all the peoples of the earth will know Your name,to fear You as Your people Israel doand know that this temple I have builtis called by Your name.

This is what King Cyrus of Persia says: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and has appointed me to build Him a temple at Jerusalem in Judah. Whoever among you of His people may go up, and may the Lord his God be with him.

with the kings and counselors of the earth,who rebuilt ruined cities for themselves,

You will laugh at destruction and hungerand not fear the animals of the earth.

You will also know that your offspring will be manyand your descendants like the grass of the earth.

For He looks to the ends of the earthand sees everything under the heavens.

who gives us more understanding than the animals of the earthand makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?”

He lets it loose beneath the entire sky;His lightning to the ends of the earth.

so it may seize the edges of the earthand shake the wicked out of it?

Have you comprehended the extent of the earth?Tell Me, if you know all this.

The kings of the earth take their stand,and the rulers conspire togetheragainst the Lord and His Anointed One:

Ask of Me,and I will make the nations Your inheritanceand the ends of the earth Your possession.

So now, kings, be wise;receive instruction, you judges of the earth.

doing justice for the fatherless and the oppressedso that men of the earth may terrify them no more.

All the ends of the earth will rememberand turn to the Lord.All the families of the nationswill bow down before You,

He gazes on all the inhabitants of the earthfrom His dwelling place.

The nobles of the peoples have assembledwith the people of the God of Abraham.For the leaders of the earth belong to God;He is greatly exalted.

Your name, God, like Your praise,reaches to the ends of the earth;Your right hand is filled with justice.

Consume them in rage;consume them until they are gone.Then people will know throughout the earththat God rules over Jacob.Selah

I call to You from the ends of the earthwhen my heart is without strength.Lead me to a rock that is high above me,

But those who seek to destroy my lifewill go into the depths of the earth.

You answer us in righteousness,with awe-inspiring works,God of our salvation,the hope of all the ends of the earthand of the distant seas.

God will bless us,and all the ends of the earth will fear Him.

Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth;sing praise to the Lord,Selah

You caused me to experiencemany troubles and misfortunes,but You will revive me again.You will bring me up again,even from the depths of the earth.

He humbles the spirit of leaders;He is feared by the kings of the earth.

They gave the corpses of Your servantsto the birds of the sky for food,the flesh of Your godly onesto the beasts of the earth.

They do not know or understand;they wander in darkness.All the foundations of the earth are shaken.

I will also make him My firstborn,greatest of the kings of the earth.

Rise up, Judge of the earth;repay the proud what they deserve.

The depths of the earth are in His hand,and the mountain peaks are His.

He has remembered His loveand faithfulness to the house of Israel;all the ends of the earthhave seen our God’s victory.

Then the nations will fear the name of Yahweh,and all the kings of the earth Your glory,

When You send Your breath,they are created,and You renew the face of the earth.

He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth.He makes lightning for the rainand brings the wind from His storehouses.

My bones were not hidden from Youwhen I was made in secret,when I was formed in the depths of the earth.

kings of the earth and all peoples,princes and all judges of the earth,

when He set a limit for the seaso that the waters would not violate His command,when He laid out the foundations of the earth.

Wisdom is the focus of the perceptive,but a fool’s eyes roam to the ends of the earth.

Who has gone up to heaven and come down?Who has gathered the wind in His hands?Who has bound up the waters in a cloak?Who has established all the ends of the earth?What is His name,and what is the name of His Son—if you know?

He raises a signal flag for the distant nationsand whistles for them from the ends of the earth.Look—how quickly and swiftly they come!

He will lift up a banner for the nationsand gather the dispersed of Israel;He will collect the scattered of Judahfrom the four corners of the earth.

Sheol below is eager to greet your coming.He stirs up the spirits of the departed for you—all the rulers of the earth.He makes all the kings of the nationsrise from their thrones.

Prepare a place of slaughter for his sons,because of the iniquity of their fathers.They will never rise up to possess a landor fill the surface of the earth with cities.

Who planned this against Tyre,the bestower of crowns,whose traders are princes,whose merchants are the honored ones of the earth?

The Lord of Hosts planned it,to desecrate all its glorious beauty,to disgrace all the honored ones of the earth.

And at the end of the 70 years, the Lord will restore Tyre and she will go back into business, prostituting herself with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth.

The earth mourns and withers;the world wastes away and withers;the exalted people of the earth waste away.

From the ends of the earth we hear songs:The Splendor of the Righteous One.But I said, “I waste away! I waste away!Woe is me.”The treacherous act treacherously;the treacherous deal very treacherously.

Whoever flees at the sound of panicwill fall into a pit,and whoever escapes from the pitwill be caught in a trap.For the windows are opened from heaven,and the foundations of the earth are shaken.

On that day the Lord will punishthe host of heaven aboveand kings of the earth below.

For look, the Lord is coming from His placeto punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity.The earth will reveal the blood shed on itand will no longer conceal her slain.

Lord of Hosts, God of Israel, who is enthroned above the cherubim, You are God—You alone—of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.

Now, Lord our God, save us from his power so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord—You alone.
