Then Jesus said to his disciples: If any one determines to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever will save his life, shall lose it. For I do not wish you, brethren, to be ignorant of this mystery lest you be wise in your own conceit that blindness has happened to Israel in part, till the full number of the Gen tiles shall have come in. And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written: There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and he shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
And do this, because you know the time, that the hour has already come when we should awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed:

for you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night:
and then shall that lawless one be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will destroy by the spirit of his mouth, and will utterly over throw by the brightness of his coming:
Be you also patient, establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draws near.
knowing this first, that there will come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying: Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. read more. And he laid hold of the dragon, that old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the abyss, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be completed: and after this he must be loosed for a little while. read more.
