For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then are you Abraham's descendants, and heirs according to the promise.

And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

And it shall come to pass, when you are come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he has promised, that you shall keep this service.

So God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they who are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall your descendants be called:

By which are given unto us exceedingly great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
