where he found in the temple those that sold oxen, sheep, and doves, besides the changers of money, who were sitting there.

upon which he made a whip of small cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with their sheep, and oxen; and threw about the changers money, and over-set the tables; and said to the dove-sellers,

now there was at Jerusalem by the sheep-gate a bath, called in Hebrew, Bethesda, which had five portico's.

When even was come, his disciples went to the sea, and going on board a ship,

so when they had rowed about five and twenty, or thirty furlongs, seeing Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh to the ship, they were frightned.

then they readily received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they were bound.

I assure you, he that entreth not by the door into the sheep-fold, but climbeth up some other way, is a thief and a robber.

but he that enters in by the door, is the pastor of the sheep.

the porter lets him in, and the sheep know his voice: he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out to pasture.

when he lets out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him: because they know his voice.

Jesus therefore subjoin'd, I declare unto you, I am the door of the sheep-fold.

they who have personated me, are all thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not follow them.

I am the true pastor: the true pastor exposes his life for the sheep.

but the hireling, who is not the pastor, nor has the property of the sheep, seeing the wolf come, leaves the sheep, and flies away: so the wolf seizes some, and disperses the flock.

the hireling flies, because he is an hireling, and is under no concern for the sheep.

I am the true pastor, I know my sheep, and my sheep know me,

other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring; they will hear my voice; and so there shall be but one fold, and one pastor.

but, as I said before, you do not believe; because ye are not of my sheep.

my sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me.

then he ask'd him the second time, Simon son of Jonas do you love me? yes, Lord, said he; you know that I love you. Jesus reply'd, feed my sheep.

Jesus said to him the third time, Simon son of Jonas, do you love me? Peter was grieved at his asking him the third time, "do you love me?" and he said to him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, feed my sheep.
