But he answering said to them, Well did Esaias prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honour me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me.

Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.

And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which if they were written one by one, I suppose that not even the world itself would contain the books written.

For as many things as have been written before have been written for our instruction, that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.

Then saith Jesus to them, All ye shall be offended in me during this night. For it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

And they set up over his head his accusation written: This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.

as it is written in Isaiah the prophet, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way.

Yet in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subjected to you, but rejoice that your names are written in the heavens.

And he said to him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

And he took the twelve to him and said to them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written of the Son of man by the prophets shall be accomplished;

saying to them, It is written, My house is a house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of robbers.

But he looking at them said, What then is this that is written, The stone which they that builded rejected, this has become the corner-stone?

for these are days of avenging, that all the things that are written may be accomplished.

And there was also an inscription written over him in Greek, and Roman, and Hebrew letters: This is the King of the Jews.

And he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you while I was yet with you, that all that is written concerning me in the law of Moses and prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.

and said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved the Christ to suffer, and to rise from among the dead the third day;

And his disciples remembered that it is written, The zeal of thy house devours me.

Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written, He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.

This is the disciple who bears witness concerning these things, and who has written these things; and we know that his witness is true.

For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his homestead become desolate, and let there be no dweller in it; and, Let another take his overseership.

But God turned and delivered them up to serve the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, Have ye offered me victims and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?

And when they had fulfilled all things written concerning him, they took him down from the cross and put him in a sepulchre;

that God has fulfilled this to us their children, having raised up Jesus; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son: this day have I begotten thee.

And with this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written:
