About forty thousand battle-ready troops marched past the Lord to fight on the plains of Jericho.

The Lord says, "These people are like soldiers who have readied their bows. Their tongues are always ready to shoot out lies. They have become powerful in the land, but they have not done so by honest means. Indeed, they do one evil thing after another and do not pay attention to me.

And Moses will be angry against the officers of the army, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds coming from the war of the battle.

I knew thy pride and the evil of thy heart, for in order to see the battle thou camest down.

And all this assembly shall know that not with sword and with spear Jehovah will save, for to Jehovah the battle, and he gave you into our hand.

And David will say to him, What was the word? announce now to me. And he will say that the people fled from the battle, and also many fell from the people, and they will die and also Saul and Jonathan his son died.
