And these were the chief among the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, and their brethren over against them, to give praise and thanks, according as David the man of God had ordained it, one watch over against another.

These were in the time of Joiakim the son of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and in the time of Nehemiah the captain and of the priest Ezra the scribe.

And when these days were expired, the king made a feast unto all the people that were in the castle of Susa, both unto great and small, seven days long in the court of the garden by the king's palace:

After these acts when the displeasure of king Ahasuerus was allayed, he thought upon Vashti: what she had done, and what was concluded concerning her.

to confirm these days of Purim, in their time appointed, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had ordained concerning them: like as they upon their soul and upon their seed had confirmed the acts of the fasting and of her complaint.

And Esther commanded to establish these acts of this Purim, and to write them in a book.

In all these things did Job not offend, nor murmured foolishly against God.

But Job said unto her, "Thou speakest like a foolish woman. Seeing we have received prosperity at the hand of God, wherefore should we not be content with adversity also?" In all these things, did not Job sin with his lips.

because it shut not up the womb that bare me. For then should these sorrows have been hid from mine eyes.

Though thou hidest these things in thine heart, yet am I sure that thou rememberest them all.

But I have understanding as well as ye, and am no less than ye. Yea who knoweth not these things?

What is he, but he knoweth that the hand of the LORD made all these?

Yea, I myself shall behold him - not with other, but with these same eyes, though my reins are consumed within me.

So these three men would strive no more with Job, because he held himself a righteous man.

So when Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, saw that these three men were not able to make Job answer, he was miscontent.

"Behold, unto these unreasonable words of thine will I make answer. Should God be reproved of man?

By these things governeth he his people, and giveth them abundance of meat.

Art thou of counsel with God, when he doth these things? When he causeth the light to come forth of his clouds?

For who can keep his own counsel so secret, but it shall be known? Therefore have I spoken unwisely, seeing these things are so high, and pass mine understanding.

Now when the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, he said unto Eliphaz the Temanite, "I am displeased with thee and thy two friends, for ye have not spoken the thing that is right before me, like as my servant Job hath done.

He that hath not given his money upon usury, nor taken reward against the innocent. Whoso doeth these things shall never fall.

Thou tellest my flittings, thou puttest my tears in thy bottle, and numberest them. Are not these things noted in thy book?

These also that seek the hurt of my soul, they shall go under the earth.

Lo, these are the ungodly, these prosper in the world, these have riches in possession;

until I went into the Sanctuary of God. Then understood I the end of these men.
