And he said unto them, What manner of words are these that you have one to another, as you walk, and are sad?
And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known to them in the breaking of bread.
And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he said, I am not. Are you that prophet? And he answered, No.
Then said they unto him, Who are you? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What say you of yourself?
Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and said unto them, What seek you? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher,) where do you dwell?
Jesus said unto her, Woman, what have I to do with you? my hour has not yet come.
Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign show you unto us, seeing that you do these things?
And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, We speak what we do know, and testify what we have seen; and you receive not our witness.
And what he has seen and heard, that he testifies; and no man receives his testimony.
You worship you know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
And upon this came his disciples, and marveled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seek you? or, Why talk you with her?
Then asked they him, What man is that who said unto you, Take up your bed, and walk?
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for whatsoever things he does, these also does the Son likewise.
And this he said to test him: for he himself knew what he would do.
There is a lad here, who has five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
They said therefore unto him, What sign do you show then, that we may see, and believe you? what do you work?
What if you shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
What manner of saying is this that he said, You shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, there you cannot come?
Does our law judge any man, before it hears him, and knows what he does?
Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what say you?
They said unto the blind man again, What say you of him, that he has opened your eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
But by what means he now sees, we know not; or who has opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
Then said they to him again, What did he to you? how opened he your eyes?
This parable spoke Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spoke unto them.
But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man does many miracles.
Then sought they for Jesus, and spoke among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think you, that he will not come to the feast?
This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bore what was put therein.
Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
This he said, signifying what death he should die.
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do you know not now; but you shall know hereafter.
So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was seated again, he said unto them, Know you what I have done to you?
And after the morsel Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, What you do, do quickly.
Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spoke this unto him.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.
From now on I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he said unto us, A little while, and you shall not see me: and again, a little while, and you shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
They said therefore, What is this that he said, A little while? we cannot tell what he said.
Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do you inquire among yourselves of what I said, A little while, and you shall not see me: and again, a little while, and you shall see me?
Why do you ask me? Ask them who heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring you against this man?
That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying what death he should die.
Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you unto me: what have you done?
Pilate said unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and said unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
This spoke he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he said unto him, Follow me.
Peter seeing him said to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
Jesus said unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you? you follow me.
Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you?
And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What means this?
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their hearts, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have you done this?
If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the crippled man, by what means he is made whole;
Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle has been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
And it was about the space of three hours later, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they were perplexed of what might come of this.
And said unto them, You men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do concerning these men.
Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.
Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will you build me? says the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
And Philip ran to him, and heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and said, Do you understand what you read?

Now while Peter wondered in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men who were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,
Then Peter went down to the men who were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom you seek: what is the cause for which you are come?
Therefore I came unto you without questioning as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent you have sent for me?
But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God has cleansed, that call not you common.
Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers over what had become of Peter.
Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
Then all the multitude kept silence, and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring what miracles and wonders God had done among the Gentiles by them.
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoics, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? Others, He seems to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is it that you have to tell me?
And when it was told me that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent immediately to you, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before you what they had against him. Farewell.
And when the governor had read the letter, he asked of what province he was. And when he understood that he was of Cilicia he said,
But we desire to hear of you what you think: for as concerning this sect, we know that everywhere it is spoken against.
Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whosoever you are that judge: for in what you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you that judge do the same things.
What advantage then has the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
