And I tarried in the mount, even as at the first time forty days and forty nights, and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, so that the LORD would not destroy thee.

And I fell before the LORD, even as at the first time - forty days and nights, and neither ate bread nor drank water - over all your sins which ye had sinned in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD and in provoking him.

And the first house, that is to say, the body of the temple, was forty cubits long.
