And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more, in all knowledge and in all spiritual sense, That ye may try the things that are excellent, that ye may be sincere and without offence unto the day of Christ, Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Christ Jesus, to the glory and praise of God.

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected: but I pursue, if I may apprehend that, for which I was also apprehended by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not account myself to have apprehended. But one thing I do, forgetting the things that are behind, and reaching forth unto the things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. read more.
Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded; and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

That ye may walk worthy of the Lord, unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness:

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love towards one another and towards all men, as we also do towards you, That he may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness (before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ) with all his saints.

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on to perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith in God, Of the doctrine of baptisms and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And this we will do, if God permit.

Wherefore laying aside all wickedness, and all guile, and dissimulation, and envies, and all evil-speakings, As new born babes desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious:

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ, have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye are Christ's, then are ye the seed of Abraham, and heirs according to the promise.

The same Spirit beareth witness with our spirits, that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ: if we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

So we also, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem those under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. read more.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

That in the dispensation of the fulness of the times, he might gather together into one in Christ all things which are in heaven, and which are in earth, In him through whom we also have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him that worketh all things after the counsel of his own will,

For this cause from the day we heard it, we do not cease to pray also for you, and to desire that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye may walk worthy of the Lord, unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness: read more.
Giving thanks unto the Father, who hath made us meet to partake of the inheritance of the saints in light.

For we also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, inslaved to various desires and pleasures, living in wickedness and envy, hateful, hating one another: But when the kindness and philanthropy of God our Saviour appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his own mercy he saved us, by the laver of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. read more.
Which he poured forth richly upon us, through Jesus Christ our Saviour, That, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs, according to the hope of eternal life.

If ye endure chastning, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he, whom his father chastneth not? But if ye are without chastning, of which all are partakers, then are ye bastards and not sons. Moreover we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we reverenced them: Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? read more.
For they, verily, for a few days chastned us as they thought good: but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.

For this cause I Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, (Seeing ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God, given me to you ward, That by revelation he made known to me the mystery: as I wrote before in few words, read more.
By reading which ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ: Which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed to the holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit, That the Gentiles are fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and joint-partakers of his promise by Christ through the gospel,

I say then, Hath God rejected his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he pleadeth with God against Israel, Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thy altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. read more.
But what saith the answer of God to him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal. And so likewise at the present time, there is a remnant, according to the election of grace. But if by grace, then it is no more of works: else grace is no longer grace. And if it be of works, then it is no more grace; else work is no longer work. What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh, but the election hath obtained, and the rest were blinded. According as it is written, God hath given them a spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this day. And David saith, Let their table become a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompence to them. Let their eyes be darkened that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. I say then, Have they stumbled so as to fall? God forbid. But by their fall salvation is come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy. But if their fall be the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles, how much more their fulness? For I speak to you Gentiles, as I am the apostle of the Gentiles: I magnify my office: If by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and save some of them. For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what will the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? For if the first-fruits be holy, so is the lump: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and thou being a wild olive wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the good olive,

Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? read more.
For we, being many, are one bread, and one body; for we are all partakers of the one bread. Consider Israel after the flesh. Are not they who eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar?

Giving thanks unto the Father, who hath made us meet to partake of the inheritance of the saints in light. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins:

Let as many servants as are under the yoke, account their masters worthy of all honour; lest the name of God and his doctrine be blasphemed. And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them a service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

Beloved, wonder not at the burning which is among you, which is for your trial, as if some strange thing befell you: But as ye partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may likewise rejoice with exceeding great joy. If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil-spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
