Who is that liar, but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is Antichrist who denieth the Father and the Son. And this is the promise which he hath promised us, eternal life. These things have I written to you, concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any should teach you, save as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie; and as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in them. And now, beloved children, abide in him, that when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

We behave undauntedly, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and present with the Lord. Therefore we are ambitious, whether present, or absent, to be well-pleasing to him.

Peter answering said to him, Tho' all should be offended at thee, I will never be offended. Jesus said to him, Verily I say to thee, before cock-crowing thou wilt deny me thrice. Peter saith to him, If I must die with thee, yet will I in no wise deny thee. In like manner also said all the disciples.
