The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand till I make thy enemies thy footstool. Verse Conceptsenemies, of Jesus ChristRight Hand Of GodRight SidesChrist Is LordChrist OvercomingSubject To GodAll Enemies Under God's Feet

Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither lewd persons, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor catamites, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor defrauders, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

For we ourselves also were formerly foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one an other. But when the kindness and philanthropy of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not by works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit, read more.
which he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior; that, being justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

that God has fulfilled the same to us, their children, by raising up Jesus, as it is written in the second Psalm: Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. But that he raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: I will give you the sure mercies of David. For which reason he says also in another Psalm: Thou wilt not suffer thy Holy One to see corruption. read more.
For David, after serving the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers, and saw corruption. But he whom God raised up did not see corruption. Be it known to you, therefore, brethren, that through this man is preached to you the remission of sins: and by him, every one that believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, yet may be justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;

For when we were yet without strength, at the appointed time, Christ died for the ungodly. For hardly, in deed, will one die for a just man; yet, perhaps, for the good man some one would even dare to die. But God makes known his love to us in this, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us: read more.
much more, then, since we are now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from the wrath through him. For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. And not only so, but we rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the reconciliation. For this reason, as by one man sin entered into the world, and by his sin, death; and so death passed through to all men, because all have sinned: for till the law, sin was in the world; but sin is not charged where there is no law. Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that did not sin in the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is the type of him that was to come. But the favor bestowed is not, in all respects, like the offense: for if, by the offense of one, the many have died, much more have the grace of God and the gift which is by the grace of the one man Jesus Christ, been made abundant for the many. And the gift is not like the sentence that came through one who sinned: for the sentence to condemnation was because of one offense; but the favor bestowed in order to justification, is because of many offenses. For if, by one man's offense, death has reigned through that one, much more shall those who receive the abundance of the grace, and of the gift of righteousness, reign in life through the one, who is Jesus Christ. Therefore, as, by one offense, sentence came on all men to condemnation, so, also, by one act of righteousness, the gift has come on all men to justification of life. For as by the disobedience of the one man the many have been made sinners, so, also, by the obedience of the one, the many shall be made righteous.

knowing that a man is not justified by works of law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed on Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of law: because, by works of law no flesh shall be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves are also found sinners, is Christ, there fore, the minister of sin? It can not be. For if I build again those things which I have destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. read more.
For, through law, I have died to law, that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ, yet I live; no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

then he said, Behold, I come to do thy will: he takes away the first, that he may establish the second. By which will, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time. And every priest stands daily ministering, and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: read more.
but after offering one sacrifice for sins, he himself sits continually at the right hand of God, henceforth waiting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering, he has made a perfect and perpetual expiation for the sanctified.

There is now, therefore, no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin, and of death. For what the law could not do, because it was weak through the flesh, God has done, who, sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for a sin-offering, condemned sin in the flesh, read more.
that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

even as Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness. Know, therefore, that those who are of faith are the sons of Abraham. For the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached beforehand the gospel to Abraham, saying: In you shall all the nations be blessed. read more.
So, then, those who are of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that does not continue in all things written in the book of the law to do them. But that no one is justified by law in the sight of God, is evident: for the just by faith shall live.

For the law, having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never, with the same sacrifices, which they offer year by year continually, make a perfect expiation for those who come to them: for then, would they not have ceased to be offered? because the worshipers, after being once cleansed, would no longer have a consciousness of sins. There is, however, in these sacrifices, a remembrance of sins every year. read more.

So, also, the Christ did not take upon himself the honor of becoming a high priest: but he gave him this honor, who said to him, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee: as he says also in another place, Thou art a priest forever, after the order of Melchisedec. For when Moses had spoken to all the people every commandment of the law, lie took the blood of calves and of goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying: This is the blood of the covenant which God enjoins on you: and, in like manner, he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the service. read more.
And, indeed, according to the law, almost all things are cleansed by blood; and without the shedding of blood there is no remission. It was necessary, therefore, that the copies of the things in the heavens should be consecrated by these sacrifices; but that the heavenly things themselves should be consecrated by better sacrifices than these. For the Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, the copies of the true; but he has entered heaven itself, now to present himself in the presence of God for us. Nor has he entered, that he should offer himself often, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with the blood of another: for then, he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once in the end of the ages, he has appeared in order to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And, as it is appointed to men once to die, and after this the judgment, so the Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to those who look for him he will appear the second time, without a sin-offering, in order to salvation.

but now, in Christ Jesus, you, who were formerly far off, have become near, by the blood of the Christ. And all these things are from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to him self, not charging their offenses to them, and he has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we act as ambassadors for Christ, as though God entreated through us; we beseech in Christ's stead, be reconciled to God: read more.

who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of every creature; for by him were all things created, things in heaven and things in earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or principalities, or authorities; all things were created by him, and for him: and he is before all things, and by him all things consist: and he is the head of the body, the church: and he is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in all things he might be preeminent; for it pleased the Father that all his fullness should dwell in him, and by him to reconcile all things to himself, having made peace by the blood of his cross; by him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. And you, who were formerly alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconciled by means of death in his fleshly body, that he may present you holy, and without spot, and blameless in his sight;

For, verily, he does not take hold of angels, but he takes hold of the posterity of Abraham. "Wherefore, it behooved him to be made like his brethren in all things, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, in order to make expiation for the sins of the people.

But into the second, the high priest alone went, once during the year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: the Holy Spirit signifying this, that the way into the most holy was not yet made manifest, while the first tabernacle was still standing, which, as a symbol, remains to the present time, in which are offered both gifts and sacrifices that can not make perfect, as it respects the conscience, him that does the service; read more.

And for this reason, he is the mediator of the new covenant: that, since his death has taken place for the redemption of transgressions that were under the former covenant, those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

For after he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord; putting my laws in their hearts, I will also write them in their understandings: he adds, And their sins and iniquities I will remember no more. Now, where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. Having therefore, brethren, confidence to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which he has dedicated for us, through the vail, that is, his flesh; and having a great high, priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, having; our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water;
