Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? What communion has light with darkness?

In the mean time, when myriads of the people had come together, so that they trod one upon another, he began to say to his disciples first of all: Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Take heed, therefore, lest that which is spoken in the prophets come upon you:

You can not drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: you can not be partakers of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.

Do you, therefore, beloved, since you know these things be forehand, beware, lest, being led away with the error of the wicked, you fall from your own steadfastness.

What, then, shall we say? Is the law sin? It can not be. Indeed, I had not known sin, except through law. For I had not known evil desire, unless the law had said: You shall not have any evil desire.

Wherefore, by works of law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight; for by law is the knowledge of sin.

But, besides the first offense, law was introduced, in order that offenses might abound: but where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

Has, then, that which is good become death to me? It can not be. But sin, that it, might appear sin, was causing death to me through that which is good, in order that sin, through the commandment, might become exceedingly sinful.

What, then, was the purpose of the law? It was added on account of transgressions, (till the offspring should come, to whom the promise was made,) having been appointed through the service of angels, in the hand of a mediator.

So, then, the law was our pedagogue that led us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and for scorners, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for man-slayers, for lewd persons, for sodomites, for men-stealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and for whatever other thing is opposed to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which has been intrusted to me.

Let every soul be subject to the higher authorities. For there is no authority but from God: the authorities that are, have been appointed by God. Therefore, he that resists the authority, resists the appointment of God; and those who resist shall receive to themselves condemnation. For rulers are not a terror to works that are good, but to those which are evil. Will you, then, not be afraid of the authority? Do that which is good, and you shall receive praise from the same.read more.
For he is the minister of God to you for that which is good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain. For he is the minister of God to inflict punishment on him that does evil.

I exhort, therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings, and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and gravity.

Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man, for the Lord's sake; whether it be to the king, as supreme ruler, or to governors, as those sent by him for the punishment of evil-doers, and for the praise of those who do well.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that also shall he reap. For he that sows for his flesh shall from the flesh, reap corruption; but he that sows for his spirit shall from the Spirit reap life eternal.

But, according to your hard and impenitent heart, you treasure up to yourself wrath for a day of wrath, and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
