For John had often told Herod, "It is not right for you to live with your brother's wife." So Herodias hated him, and wished to put him to death; but she could not, for Herod was afraid of John because he knew that he was a just and holy man. So he kept him safe. Now I beg you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to speak in accord, all of you, and to have no divisions among you, but to be knit together in a common mind and temper. For it has been plainly told me concerning you, my brothers, by Chloe's people, that there are dissensions among you.
