So I told you, you would die in your sins; for unless you believe who I am, you will die in your sins." They said, "Who are you?" Jesus replied, "Why should I talk to you at all? I have a great deal to say about you and many a judgment to pass upon you; but he who sent me is true, and so I tell the world what I have learned from him."read more.
They did not understand he was speaking to them about the Father; so Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of man, you will know then who I am, and that I do nothing of my own accord, but speak as the Father has taught me. He who sent me is at my side; he has not left me alone; for I always do what pleases him." As he said this, a number believed in him.
Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" Jesus replied, "Certainly."
Believe me, I am in the Father and the Father is in me: ??or else, believe because of the deeds themselves.
This made Pilate anxious to release him, but the Jews yelled, "If you release him, you are no friend of Caesar's! Anyone who makes himself a king is against Caesar!"
The Jews retorted, "We mean to stone you, not for a good deed, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, make yourself God."
for many will come in my name, saying 'I am the Christ,' and they will mislead many.
The Jews retorted, "But we have a Law, and by [our] Law he is bound to die, because he has made himself out to be God's Son."
He said, "Take care that you are not misled; for many will come in my name saying, 'I am he' and 'the time is near' ??do not go after them.
Jesus said nothing. Then the high priest addressed him, "I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God!" Jesus said to him, "Even so! But I tell you, in future you will all see the Son of man seated at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven."
He said nothing and made no answer. Again the high priest put a question to him. "Are you the Christ?" he said, "the Son of the Blessed?" Jesus said, "I am. And, what is more, you will all see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven."
"Are you the Son of God then?" they all said. "Certainly," he replied, "I am."
His trust is in God? Let God deliver him now if he cares for him! He said he was the Son of God!"
"What does the man mean by talking like this? It is blasphemy! Who can forgive sins, who but God alone?"
Then the scribes and Pharisees began to argue, "Who is this blasphemer? Who can forgive sins, who but God alone?"
Jesus said to him, "Philip, have I been with you all this time, and yet you do not understand me? He who has seen me has seen the Father. What do you mean by saying, 'Let us see the Father'?
