How have you fallen from heaven, O light-bringer and daystar, son of the morning! How you have been cut down to the ground, you who weakened and laid low the nations [O blasphemous, satanic king of Babylon!] And you said in your heart, I will ascend to heaven; I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit upon the mount of assembly in the uttermost north. He who loves transgression loves strife and is quarrelsome;
He who [proudly] raises his gate seeks destruction [because of his arrogant pride].
Therefore thus said the Lord God: Because it is exalted in stature and has set its top among the thick boughs and the clouds, and its heart is proud of its height, I will even deliver it into the hand of a mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with it. I have driven it out for its wickedness and lawlessness.
Contentiousness » The contentious spirit
He who loves transgression loves strife and is quarrelsome;

A hot-tempered man stirs up strife,
But he who is slow to anger and patient calms disputes.
Like charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire,
So is a contentious man to kindle strife.
I am for peace, but when I speak,
They are for war.
They devise evil things in their hearts;
They continually [gather together and] stir up wars.
A fool’s lips bring contention and strife,
And his mouth invites a beating.
Why do You make me see iniquity,
And cause me to look on wickedness?
For destruction and violence are before me;
Strife continues and contention arises.
