Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles, to mock and scourge and crucify him; and the third day he shall rise again.

And he answered and said to them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh a sign, and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men; And they will kill him, and the third day he shall rise again: and they were exceeding sorry.

And he answering said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same will betray me. The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but wo to that man, by whom the Son of man is betrayed: it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

Then cometh he to his disciples and saith to them, Sleep on now and take your rest: Behold the hour is come, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise; let us be going: behold he that betrayeth me is at hand.

And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus went before them. And they were amazed, and as they followed, they were afraid. And taking the twelve again, he told them what things should befall him: Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and the scribes: and they will condemn him to death, and deliver him to the Gentiles. And they will mock him and scourge him and spit upon him and kill him. And the third day he will rise again.

For he shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully intreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.

I know whom I have chosen, that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lift up his heel against me. Now I tell you before it is done, that, when it is done, ye may believe that I am he. Jesus having said this, was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily I say unto you, one of you will betray me. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. Now there was lying in the bosom of Jesus, one of the disciples whom Jesus loved. Simon Peter therefore beckoneth to him, to ask who it was of whom he spake. He then, leaning on the breast of Jesus, saith to him, Lord, who is it? Jesus answered, It is he to whom I shall give the sop when I have dipped it. And having dipped the sop, he giveth it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. And after the sop, then Satan entered into him.

Simon Peter saith to him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me hereafter. Peter saith to him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake. Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily I say to thee, the cock shall not have crowed, till thou hast denied me thrice.

For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody, to whom was joined a number of men, about four hundred, who was slain, and all who hearkened to him were scattered and came to nothing. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee, in the days of the inrolment, and drew away much people after him; he also perished, and all who had hearkened to him were dispersed.

And Jesus answering said, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ, and shall deceive many.

Then if any say to you, Lo here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For false Christs and false prophets shall arise and shew great signs and wonders, so that they would deceive (if it were possible) even the elect. Behold I have told you before. read more.
Therefore if they say to you, Behold, he is in the desert, go not forth: Behold he is in the secret chambers, believe it not.

And Jesus answering said, Take heed lest any deceive you. For many will come in my name saying, I am Christ, and will deceive many.

Then if any man say to you, Lo, here is Christ, or lo, he is there, believe it not. For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

And when they shall say to you, See here; see there: go not, nor follow them. Ior as the lightning that lightneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth to the other part under heaven, so shall also the Son of man be in his day.

Then said Jesus to them, Yet a little time I am with you, and then I go to him that sent me. Ye shall seek, and shall not find me, and where I am, ye cannot come.

And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him, That he should not die: but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is it to thee?

Wherefore behold I send to you prophets, and wise-men, and scribes; and some of them ye will kill and crucify, and some of them ye will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city: That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous, to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
