Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sins were not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come. But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man's trespass many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so death spread to all men, because all men sinned. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then, at his coming, those who belong to him. Then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. "For God has put all things in subjection under his feet." But when it says, "All things are put in subjection under him," it is plain that he is excepted who put all things under him. When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to the one who put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
