For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

But you shall remember the LORD your God: for it is he that gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto your fathers, as it is this day.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his own ability; and immediately took his journey.

Even so you, since you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that you may excel to the edifying of the church.

Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his power, neither shall the mighty deliver himself: Neither shall he stand that handles the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rides the horse deliver himself. And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, says the LORD.

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From where has this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they took offense at him.
