Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
Only let your manner of life be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
But the righteousness which is by faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down.)
He that believeth on him, is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
For by grace are ye saved, through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
How can ye believe, who receive honor one from another, and seek not the honor that cometh from God only?
Then said Jesus to him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
And said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.
Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labors; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you, according to our rule abundantly,
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
And thou shalt say in thy heart, My power and the might of my hand hath gotten me this wealth.
And he that doubteth is damned if he eateth, because he eateth not from faith: for whatever is not from faith is sin.
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, acquit yourselves like men, be strong.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear:
