Is not life more than food, and the body than raiment?

Is there any man among you, who, if his son ask him for bread, will give him a stone? or if he ask for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to them that ask Him? All things therefore whatsoever ye would have men do to you, do ye also in like manner unto them: for this is the doctrine of the law and the prophets. Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be who go in thereat: whereas the gate is narrow, and the way troublesome, which leadeth into life, and few there be that find it. And whoever heareth these words of mine, and performeth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand: and the rain fell upon it, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell, and the fall thereof was great.
