For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things future, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
But I would not have you ignorant, my brethren, concerning those that are fallen asleep, that ye may not be grieved like others who have no hope: for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also those, that sleep in Jesus, will God bring with Him. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with acclamation, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we who are living and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we for ever be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain: and if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor:
And I heard a voice from heaven, saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead, that die in the Lord, from henceforth: yea, saith the Spirit, for they rest from their labors and their works do follow them.
Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou dost not now understand, but thou shalt know hereafter.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall be death no more, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
For he must reign till He hath put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy that is destroyed is death:
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; nor shall any one force them out of my hand. My Father who gave them to me, is greater than all: and therefore none is able to force them out of my Father's hand.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God whereby ye are sealed to the day of redemption.
And I account the sufferings of this present time not worthy to be set against the glory that shall be revealed to us.
And as I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself, that where I am, ye may also be.
but if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
