Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any one is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me: for he that would save his life shall lose it; but he that would lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give as a ransom for his soul?

And calling the people and his disciples to Him, He said unto them, Whosoever is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me: for he that would save his life, shall lose it; but he that would lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

And He said unto them all, if any one is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me: for he that would save his life shall lose it, but he that would lose his life for my sake shall save it. For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be destroyed?

Jesus replied, If thou wouldst be perfect, go, sell thy estate, and give it to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come and follow me.

Then Jesus looked upon him with affection, and said to him, One thing thou wantest; go, sell all that thou hast, and give it to the poor; and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross and follow me.

But when Jesus heard these things He said unto him, Thou yet wantest one thing, Sell all that thou hast, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

And as they were going by the way, there was one said to Him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest: and Jesus answered him, The foxes have holes, and the fowls of heaven their nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. And He said to another, Follow me: but he said, Lord, permit me to go first and bury my father:read more.
but Jesus said unto him, Leave the dead to bury their dead; but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee, but allow me first to go and take my leave of my family. But Jesus said unto him, No one, that hath put his hand to the plough and looketh back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon son of Jonas, dost thou love me? Peter was grieved, that He said to him the third time, Dost thou love me? And he said unto Him, Lord, Thou knowest all things, Thou knowest that I love Thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. Verily, verily I say unto thee, When thou wast younger, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst about where thou wouldest: but when thou art old, thou shalt stretch out thine hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee where thou wouldest not. This He said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when He had said this, He saith unto him, Follow me.

Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another by psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude singing in your hearts to the Lord.

And admonish the disorderly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the weak, be of a patient spirit towards all.

by this epistle, mark such a one, and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. However do not look upon him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

preach the word, be instant both in season and out of season; convince, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and instruction.

These things speak, and exhort; and reprove offenders with all authority: that none may despise thee.

reject therefore such an heretical man, after the first and second admonition; knowing that such a one is perverted,

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan so filled thine heart, that thou shouldst lie to the holy Ghost, and keep back part of the price of the land? While it remained, did it not remain thy own? and when sold, was it not in thy own power? what is the meaning that thou hast taken this into thine heart? Thou hast not lyed to men, but to God.

But when Peter came to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was indeed to be blamed. For before certain men came from James, he did eat with the gentiles; but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those of the circumcision. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all,---If thou, who art a Jew, livest sometimes after the manner of the gentiles, and not like the Jews, why dost thou now in a manner compel the gentiles to judaize?
