Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and considereth it not, the wicked one cometh, and catcheth away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the way-side. But he who received the seed in stony places, is he that heareth the word, and immediately receiveth it with joy. read more.

And I saw the heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and he that sitteth on him, called Faithful and True: and in righteousness he judgeth and maketh war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and upon his head are many diadems, and he hath a name written, which none knoweth but himself. And the armies which were in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in clean, fine linen. And out of his mouth goeth forth a sharp two-edged sword, that with it he may smite the nations. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the wine-press of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty.

Now a certain Jew, Apollos by name, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

Then Philip opening his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

And he desired Philip to come up, and sit with him. The portion of scripture which he was reading, was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so he opened not his mouth.

And having appointed him a day, many came to him at his lodging, to whom he expounded the kingdom of God, testifying and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and the prophets, from morning till evening.

But he answering said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

For I delivered to you first, that which I also received, That Christ died for our sins,

Search the scriptures: in them ye think ye have eternal life: and it is they that testify of me.

To him give all the prophets witness, that every one who believeth in him, shall receive forgiveness of sins through his name.

For he earnesty debated with the Jews in publick, shewing by the scriptures, that Jesus was the Christ.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill.

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things in all the scriptures, concerning himself.

They said therefore one to another, Let us not rent it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and cast lots for my vesture. These things therefore the soldiers did.

I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man add to them, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part of the tree of life, and the holy city, which are written in this book.

So powerfully did the word of God grow and prevail.

Therefore laying aside all the filthiness and superfluity of wickedness, receive with meekness the ingrafted word, which is able to save your souls. To publish the acceptable year of the Lord. And having closed the book, he gave it again to the servant, and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he said to them, This day is the scripture fulfilled in your ears. And they all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son? And he said to them, Ye will surely say to me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself. I tell you of a truth, Many widows were in Israel, in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, while a great famine was thro' all the land. Yet to none of these was Elijah sent, but to Sarepta, a city of Sidon, to a widow. And many lepers were in Israel, in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet none of them was healed, but Naaman the Syrian.

Be diligent to present thyself unto God approved a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

for it is written, Cursed is every one who continueth not in all the things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.

Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel; for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, both to the Jew and to the Gentile.

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, who is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among them that are sanctified.

These were more ingenuous than those of Thessalonica, receiving the word with all readiness of mind, and daily searching the scriptures, whether those things were so?

And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

not walking in craftiness, nor deceitfully corrupting the word of God, but by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
