And when the great Prince of the pastors shall appear, ye shall receive the incorruptible crown of glory.
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers,
And he established twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach
And having ordained elders for them in every congregation and having prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord on whom they believed.
And God did set certain ones in the congregation : first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that faculties, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
So when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He said unto him, Yes, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He said unto him, Feed my lambs.
And Jesus, when he came out, saw a great multitude and had mercy on them because they were as sheep not having a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.
He said unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus said unto him, Feed my sheep.

I have fed you with milk, and not with solid food, for until now ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
For you should now be teaching others, if we look at the time, yet you need to be taught again which are the first elements of the oracles of God and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong food. For any one that uses milk is not qualified in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But strong food belongs to those that are perfect, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He said unto him, Yes, Lord thou knowest that I love thee. He said unto him, Feed my sheep.
naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Take heed therefore unto yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has placed you as bishops to feed the congregation of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.

The Word is faithful, If anyone desires the office of a bishop, , he desires a difficult ministry. It is expedient, therefore, that the bishop be blameless, the husband of only one wife, vigilant, temperate, of worldly affections mortified, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
for when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently and found me.
For the bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God; not arrogant, not quick to anger, not given to wine, not hurtful, not greedy of dishonest gain,
The pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation and to keep thyself unspotted from this world.
Feed the flock of God which is among you, caring for her, not by force, but willingly; not for shameful lucre, but with willing desire;
For I know this, that after my departing, grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
Keep yourselves also from the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
and not as having lordship over the heritage of the Lord, but in such a manner as to be examples of the flock.
Listen to your pastors, and do not resist them, for they watch for your souls as those that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief; for that is unprofitable for you.
As the Father knows me, even so I know the Father, and I lay down my soul for the sheep.
Now at that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to mistreat certain of the congregation . And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)read more.
And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him, intending after the Passover to bring him forth to the people.
Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
