If that’s how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won’t He do much more for you—you of little faith? So don’t worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For the idolaters eagerly seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

With me are riches and honor,
lasting wealth and righteousness.

Long life is in her right hand;
in her left, riches and honor.

As soon as your eyes fly to it, it disappears,

God gives a man riches, wealth, and honor so that he lacks nothing of all he desires for himself, but God does not allow him to enjoy them. Instead, a stranger will enjoy them. This is futile and a sickening tragedy.

Look at them—the wicked!
They are always at ease,
and they increase their wealth.

and the man became rich and kept getting richer until he was very wealthy.

Why do the wicked continue to live,
growing old and becoming powerful?

by knowledge the rooms are filled
with every precious and beautiful treasure.

You may say to yourself, ‘My power and my own ability have gained this wealth for me,’

They said with a loud voice:

The Lamb who was slaughtered is worthy
to receive power and riches
and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and blessing!

His descendants will be powerful in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.

“Proclaim further: This is what the Lord of Hosts says: My cities will again overflow with prosperity; the Lord will once more comfort Zion and again choose Jerusalem.”

May the righteous flourish in his days
and prosperity abound
until the moon is no more.

for they will bring you
many days, a full life, and well-being.

He swallows wealth but must vomit it up;
God will force it from his stomach.
