'Honor' in the Bible
And they were offended by Him.But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his household.”
For God said:Honor your father and your mother; and,The one who speaks evil of father or mothermust be put to death.
he does not have to honor his father.’ In this way, you have revoked God’s word because of your tradition.
These people honor Me with their lips,but their heart is far from Me.

They love the place of honor at banquets, the front seats in the synagogues,

He answered them, “Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written:These people honor Me with their lips,but their heart is far from Me.
For Moses said:Honor your father and your mother; andWhoever speaks evil of father or mothermust be put to death.
You know the commandments:Do not murder;do not commit adultery;do not steal;do not bear false witness;do not defraud;honor your father and mother.”

“Beware of the scribes, who want to go around in long robes and who love greetings in the marketplaces, the front seats in the synagogues, and the places of honor at banquets.
Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
so that all people will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
“I do not have a demon,” Jesus answered. “On the contrary, I honor My Father and you dishonor Me.
If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me. Where I am, there My servant also will be. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
eternal life to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality;
but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does what is good, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.
Or has the potter no right over the clay, to make from the same lump one piece of pottery for honor and another for dishonor?
Show family affection to one another with brotherly love. Outdo one another in showing honor.
Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor.
And those parts of the body that we think to be less honorable, we clothe these with greater honor, and our unpresentable parts have a better presentation.
But our presentable parts have no need of clothing. Instead, God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the less honorable,
Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise,
Therefore, welcome him in the Lord with all joy and hold men like him in honor,
so that each of you knows how to control his own body in sanctification and honor,
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
the only One who has immortality,dwelling in unapproachable light;no one has seen or can see Him,to Him be honor and eternal might.Amen.
You made him lower than the angelsfor a short time;You crowned him with glory and honor
But we do see Jesus—made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God’s grace He might taste death for everyone—crowned with glory and honor because of His suffering in death.
For Jesus is considered worthy of more glory than Moses, just as the builder has more honor than the house.
