'Answered' in the Bible
Simon answered and said, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets.”
But Jesus, aware of their reasonings, answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts?
And Jesus answered and said to them, “It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick.
And He answered and said to them, “Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have the gospel preached to them.
And Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” And he replied, “Say it, Teacher.”
Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”
But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
But when Jesus heard this, He answered him, “Do not be afraid any longer; only believe, and she will be made well.”
They answered and said, “John the Baptist, and others say Elijah; but others, that one of the prophets of old has risen again.”
And He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.”
And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here.”
John answered and said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name; and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow along with us.”
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
And He said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.”
But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things;
And Jesus said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this fate?
And he answered and said to him, ‘Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer;
But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites, does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead him away to water him?
And Jesus answered and spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?”
But he answered and said to his father, ‘Look! For so many years I have been serving you and I have never neglected a command of yours; and yet you have never given me a young goat, so that I might celebrate with my friends;
Then Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine—where are they?
Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed;
But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!”
Jesus answered and said to them, “I will also ask you a question, and you tell Me:
So they answered that they did not know where it came from.
Some of the scribes answered and said, “Teacher, You have spoken well.”
But Jesus answered and said, “Stop! No more of this.” And He touched his ear and healed him.
So Pilate asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And He answered him and said, “It is as you say.”
And he questioned Him at some length; but He answered him nothing.
But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?
One of them, named Cleopas, answered and said to Him, “Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days?”
They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he *said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
John answered them saying, “I baptize in water, but among you stands One whom you do not know.
Nathanael *said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
Nathanael answered Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel.”
Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”
The Jews then said to Him, “What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?”
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?
John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.
Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus *said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband’;
The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
But he answered them, “He who made me well was the one who said to me, ‘Pick up your pallet and walk.’”
But He answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.”
Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.
Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, for everyone to receive a little.”
Jesus answered them and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”
Jesus answered and said to them, “Do not grumble among yourselves.
Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.

The Pharisees then answered them, “You have not also been led astray, have you?
They answered him, “You are not also from Galilee, are you? Search, and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee.”
Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from or where I am going.
So they were saying to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father; if you knew Me, you would know My Father also.”
They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.
They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus *said to them, “If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham.
The Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”
Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.
Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God’;
Jesus answered, “It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.”

Peter *said to Him, “Never shall You wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”

Simon Peter *said to Him, “Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered, “Where I go, you cannot follow Me now; but you will follow later.”
Jesus *answered, “Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you deny Me three times.
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.
They answered Him, “Jesus the Nazarene.” He *said to them, “I am He.” And Judas also, who was betraying Him, was standing with them.
Jesus answered, “I told you that I am He; so if you seek Me, let these go their way,”
