I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another helper, that he [the Father] may be with you forever. It is the Spirit of the truth. The world cannot receive it. The world does not see or know it. You know it because it lives with you and will be with you. I will not leave you desolate. I will come to you.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the cultivator. He takes away the branches in me that do not bear fruit. He cleans every branch that bears fruit. That way it may bear more fruit. You are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. read more.
Remain with me, and I with you. The branch cannot bear fruit by itself. It must remain on the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain with me. I am the vine and you are the branches. He that remains with me, and I with him, the same bears much fruit. You can do nothing apart from me. If a man does not remain with me, he is removed as a branch, and withers. They gather them and throw them into the fire where they are burned (destroyed) (consumed). If you remain with me, and my words remain with you, ask whatever you will, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified when you bear much fruit. You will be my disciples. I love you just as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. If you obey my commandments you will remain in my love. I have obeyed my Father's commandments and remain in his love. I spoke these things in order that my joy may continue with you and your joy may be made full. This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you. No man has greater love then this that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do the things that I command you. I no longer call you servants for the servant does not know what the lord does. I have called you friends; for all things that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you. You did not choose me. I chose you and appointed you. You should go and bear fruit and your fruit should remain. Whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, that you may love one another. If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. I chose you out of the world. The world hates you because you are not of the world. Remember the word I said to you. A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they obeyed my word, they will obey yours also. They will do all these things to you for my name's sake. It is because they do not know the one that sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin. Now they have no excuse for their sin! He who hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would have no sin. They have seen and hated both my Father and me. This took place that the word written in the Law may be fulfilled: They hated me without a cause. I will send the helper from the Father, the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father to bear witness of me.

I go to him that sent me. None of you asks me: Where are you going? Now that I have spoken these things to you, sorrow fills your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away. For if I do not go away the helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send it to you. (Greek: autos: it) read more.
Upon arrival this one will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. First of sin because they do not practice active faith in me. Second, of righteousness, because I go to the Father and you will not see me anymore. And third, of judgment because the prince of this world has been judged. I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot endure them now. When the Spirit of truth comes it will guide you to all truth for it will not speak from itself. It will speak the things it hears and declare to you the things that are to come. It will glorify me and will take of what I have and declare it to you. All the things the Father has are mine. That is why I said [the Spirit] takes what I have and declares it to you.

I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of slavery in Egypt. Do not have any other god. Do not make your own carved idols or statues that represent any creature in the sky, on the earth, or in the water. read more.
Do not worship them or serve them. I, Jehovah your God, am a God demanding exclusive devotion. (I do not tolerate rivals.) I will not share your affection with any other god. I punish children for their parents' sins to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.

I am Jehovah your God. I brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Do not have any other god but me. Do not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above, or on the earth below, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: read more.
Do not bow down to them. Do not serve them! For I Jehovah your God am a totally demanding zealous God. I require exclusive devotion and punish the fathers and children who hate me to the third and fourth generation.

The Lord appointed seventy disciples and sent them in groups of two into every city and place where he was about to go. He said to them: The harvest indeed is great but the laborers are few. Pray that the Master (Controller) (Lord) of the harvest will send laborers into his harvest. Go your way for I send you as lambs in the midst of wolves. read more.
Carry no purse, no wallet, and no shoes; and greet no man on the way. When you enter a house say; may this house have peace. If a son of peace lives there, your peace shall rest upon him. If not, it shall return to you again. Remain in that house eating and drinking what they give you. The laborer is worthy of his hire. Do not stay in different houses. When they receive you in their city eat what ever they set before you. Heal the sick that are there and say to them, the kingdom of God is near you. If they do not receive you in their city go into their streets and, Shake off the dust that clings to your feet, from that city, so they may know that the kingdom of God came near. I tell you, it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. Woe to you Chorazin! Woe to you Bethsaida! If the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. It will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you. Will you Capernaum be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to the grave. He that hears you hears me; and he that rejects you rejects me and he that rejects me rejects him that sent me.

Keep in mind that Jehovah your God is the only true God. He is the faithful God. He keeps his promise and is merciful to thousands of generations of those who love him and obey his commandments. He destroys everyone who hates him. He never takes long to pay back anyone who hates him.

Jehovah will bring his people justice. He will have compassion on his servants. He sees that their power is gone, and only the imprisoned and abandoned remain. See now that I, even I, am he. There is no god besides me! It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heals. There is no one who can deliver from my hand. Indeed, I lift up my hand to heaven, and say: As I live forever, I sharpen my flashing sword, and my hand takes hold on justice! I will render vengeance on my adversaries. I will repay those who hate me.

Certainly God does not reject a blameless man or strengthen the hands of evildoers. He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy. Your enemies will be clothed in shame. The tents of the wicked will be no more.

Indeed, the king trusts Jehovah, and through the mercy of the Most High, he will not be moved. Your hand (spirit and power) will discover all your enemies. They have helped the children of Lot. Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon Who perished at Endor and became as dung for the earth. Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna. For they said: Let us take possession Of God's pasturelands. My God, make them like tumbleweed, like chaff before the wind. Likewise the Spirit also helps our weaknesses. We do not know what we should pray for, as we should. The Spirit [of God] makes intercession with groaning that cannot be spoken. So he who searches the hearts knows what is the inclination (purpose) (mind-set) of the Spirit [of God], because the Spirit makes intercession for the holy ones according to the will of God. We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

It is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, and it has not entered into the heart of man, the things God prepared for those who love him. (Isaiah 64:4) But God revealed them to us by his Spirit. For the Spirit investigates (searches) all things, yes even the deep things of God.

We have such confidence through Christ toward God. We are not adequate by ourselves to account for anything. Our adequacy is from God. He also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant. This is a covenant not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed. You hanged him on a stake. The Holy Spirit, which God gave to those who obey him, also witnessed.

Upon arrival this one will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. First of sin because they do not practice active faith in me. Second, of righteousness, because I go to the Father and you will not see me anymore. And third, of judgment because the prince of this world has been judged. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed. You hanged him on a stake. God exalted him to his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. We are witnesses of these things. The Holy Spirit, which God gave to those who obey him, also witnessed.

For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you people of the nations. You have heard of the stewardship of God's loving kindness that was given to me with you in view. The secret was made known to me by revelation, just as I wrote before in few words. read more.
When you read this you can understand my insight into the secret of Christ. It was not made known to other generations of the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after that he said: Verse ConceptsThe Witness Of The SpiritTaught By The Spirit
