One man said: Master, what good thing must I do, so that I may have eternal life?

One man said: Master, what good thing must I do, so that I may have eternal life? Jesus answered him: Why are you questioning me about what is good? There is one who is good. If you desire life, obey the Law. The man replied: Which law? And Jesus said: Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false witness, read more.
Honor your father and your mother, and Love your neighbor as yourself. The man said to him: I have done all these things; what more is there? Jesus then replied: If you wish to be complete, go sell your possessions and give the money to the poor. You will have wealth in heaven. Then follow me! But hearing these words, the young man went away grieving, for he was very wealthy.

A lawyer stood up to test him. He asked: Teacher what shall I do to inherit everlasting life? He said: What is written in the law? How do you read it? He answered: Love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your life, with all your strength and with all your mind. (Feelings and total existence) (Might and total thinking capacity) And you should love your neighbor as yourself. (Deuteronomy 6:5) (Leviticus 19:18) read more.
He told him: You answered correctly, do this and you will live.

When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All nations will be gathered before him. He will then separate them one from another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. read more.
The King will say to those on his right hand: 'Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you took me in. I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.' The righteous will answer him: 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you as a stranger and take you in, or naked and dress you? When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?' The King will answer: 'To the extent that you did it to one of the least of my brothers, you did it to me.' Then he will tell those on his left: 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the ever-burning fire that is prepared for the Devil and his [fallen] angels. I was hungry and you did not feed me. I was thirsty and you did not give me drink. I was a stranger and you did not take me in. I was naked and you did not dress me. I was sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' They will also ask: 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty, a stranger or naked, sick or in prison and not minister to you?' The King will answer: 'To the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of my brothers, you did not do it to me.' These will go away into ever-burning fire (everlasting cutting off) (death) (total destruction) (doom) (punishment) (everlasting penalty), but the righteous to everlasting life.'

As he traveled someone ran to him, kneeled and asked him: Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit everlasting life? Jesus asked him: Why do you call me good? None is good except God. You know the commandments, do not kill, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not defraud, honor your father and mother. read more.
Teacher, he said: I have observed all of these from my youth. Jesus lovingly looked at him and said: You lack one thing. Go, sell your possessions and give to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me. He was very sad when he heard this for he had many possessions. Then he went away.

Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me. But when he heard these things he became very sad for he was very rich. Seeing him Jesus said: It is very difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Produce fruit that is worthy of repentance. Do not say we have Abraham for our father. I tell you, that God is able to make these stones into children for Abraham.

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of man must also be lifted up. Everyone who has an active faith in him may have everlasting life. For God loved the world so much, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever has an active faith in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. read more.
God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world. Instead the world should be saved through him. He who has an active faith in him is not judged. He who does not have an active faith has been judged already for he has not had faith in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

It will happen. Every person who will not listen to the prophet will be destroyed from among the people.

Jesus said: I am the resurrection and the life. He who puts active faith in me will live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and puts active faith in me will never die. Do you believe this?

Jesus turned to speak to the large crowd of people who were traveling with him: You who come to me may not be my disciple unless you love me more than you love your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters and yourself. Those who do not carry their own stake and come after me may not be my disciples. read more.
If you plan to build a tower, you sit down first and figure out what it will cost. Then you see if you have enough money to finish the job. If you do not, you will not be able to finish the project after laying the foundation. Everyone who sees what happened will ridicule and poke fun of you. You started and could not finish,' they will say. When a king commands ten thousand men to fight another king who comes against him with twenty thousand men, he will sit down first and decide if he is strong enough to defeat the other king. If he is not strong enough he will send messengers to the other king to ask for terms of peace while he is still far away. Likewise, concluded Jesus, none of you may be my disciples unless you give up everything you have.

They asked: What must we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus answered: This is the work of God, that you have an active faith in the one whom he has sent.

While you have the light, exert active faith in the light, that you may become sons of light. Jesus said this and then he departed and hid himself from them.

Jesus heard that they threw him out. He found him and said: Do you believe in the Son of God?

It is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. They heard this and asked: Than who can be saved?

Jesus answered: Truly I tell you unless a person is born again (brought forth from above) he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus asked: How could a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother's womb again and be born? Jesus responded: I tell you truth, except a man be born of water and the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God! read more.
That which is born from the flesh is flesh and that which is born from the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I say you must be born again. The wind blows where it will. You hear the sound of it. Yet you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. It is like this with every one who is born from the Spirit. Nicodemus asked: How can these things be? Jesus answered: Are you a teacher of Israel and you do not understand these things? This is the truth. We speak what we know and witness about what we have seen. But you do not receive our testimony. If I told you earthly things and you did not have faith, how will you have faith if I tell you heavenly things?

([Psalm of David]) The fool has said in his heart: There is no God (Jehovah)*. They are corrupt and have done abominable (detestable) iniquity. There are none who do good. (*Possible deliberate scribal change from YHWH to Elohim)

They may sin against you, for everyone sins. You may become angry with them and hand them over to an enemy far or near who takes them to another country as captives.

Are we Jews in any better condition than the people of the nations? Not at all! I have already shown that Jews and the people of the nations are all under the power of sin. The Scriptures say: There is no one who is righteous, There is no one who has insight. No one seeks God! read more.
All have turned away from God; they have all done wrong. No one does what is right, not even one. (Psalm 53:3)

No one has ever heard and no one has paid attention. No one has perceived any god except you. You help those who wait for you. You greeted the one who gladly does right and remembers your ways. You were angry because we sinned. We continued to sin for a long time. Can we still be saved? All of us have become unclean, and all our righteous acts are like permanently stained rags. All of us wither like leaves, and our sins carry us away like the wind. read more.
No one calls on your name or tries to hold on to you. You have hidden your face from us. You allowed us be ruined by our sins.

They may sin against you. There is no man who is without sin. You may become angry with them and hand them over to an enemy who takes them to another country as captives, whether it is far or near.

([Psalm of David]) The fool says in his heart: There is no God (Jehovah) (Psalm 10:4). They are corrupt. They do disgusting things. No one does good things. Jehovah looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there is anyone who acts wisely, if there is anyone who seeks help from God. Everyone has turned away. Together they have become rotten to the core. No one, not even one person, does good things. read more.
Are all the workers of wickedness, those who devour my people as if they were devouring food, so ignorant that they do not call on Jehovah?
