Then Judas, who had betrayed Him, when he saw that He was condemned, being struck with remorse, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, saying, I have sinned, for I have betrayed innocent blood: but they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. And he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
And calling the people and his disciples to Him, He said unto them, Whosoever is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me: for he that would save his life, shall lose it; but he that would lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, shall save it.
Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any one is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me: for he that would save his life shall lose it; but he that would lose his life for my sake shall find it.
And He said unto them all, if any one is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me: for he that would save his life shall lose it, but he that would lose his life for my sake shall save it.
In this we know his love, that He laid down his life for us: and we should be ready to lay down our lives for the brethren.
for if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if by the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Mortify therefore your members that are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, disorderly passion, evil concupiscence, and insatiable desire, which is indeed idolatry:
And therefore if thy right eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one part of thee perish, than that thy whole body should be cast into hell: and if thy right hand cause thee to offend, cut it off and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one of thy limbs should perish, than that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
And they, that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh with it's passions and desires.
But God forbid that I should glory, unless in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.
Dearly beloved, I exhort you as strangers and sojourners here, to abstain from carnal lusts, which war against the soul:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we might no longer be inslaved to sin: for he that is thus dead with Christ, is delivered from sin.
which according to your former conversation was corrupted with deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
I am crucified with Christ; yet I live, though no longer I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave up himself for me.

but I mortify my body and bring it into subjection, least after having preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

Now the Spirit expressly saith, that in latter times some shall apostatize from the faith, attending to seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons founded in the hypocrisy of liars, who are seared in their own conscience, forbidding to marry, and enjoining abstinence from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by those that believe and know the truth.read more.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving: for it is sanctified by the word of God and by prayer.
