I can do nothing of my self: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father that hath sent me.
not that we can of ourselves reckon upon any thing as from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.
For whether we be in extasies, it is to God: or if we be composed, it is for your benefit.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear witness of myself, my testimony is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I am going; but ye know not whence I come, nor whither I go.
But none of these things move me, nor do I account my life dear, so that I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

For that which I do, I allow not: for I do not that which I would; but what I hate, this I do.
Have I committed an offence in humbling myself that ye might be exalted? and in that I have preached the gospel of God to you gratis?
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father, who sent me, gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.
None taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself: I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment I have received from my Father.
but I mortify my body and bring it into subjection, least after having preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
