"You must either make the tree healthy and its fruits healthy or make the tree sickly and its fruits sickly, for a tree is judged by its fruit.

So every good tree bears good fruits, but a bad tree bears bad fruits;

a good tree cannot bear bad fruits, nor a bad tree good fruits.

And when the time of the fruits approached he sent his servants to the husbandmen to receive his fruits.

You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns? or figs from thistles?

By their fruits, therefore, you shall know them.

They said to him, He will inflict on those men a miserable death, and let out his vineyard to other husbandmen, who will render him the fruits in their seasons.

I tell you, therefore, that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation yielding its fruits.

Bring forth therefore fruits befitting for repentance:

But many [who are] first will be last, and the last first.

Thus the last will be first and the first last."

And dearly love the first couch in the chief meals, and the first seats in the synagogues,

Now on the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread [i.e., the first day of Passover week], His disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover meal?"

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the first, and love the other, or he will adhere to the first, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and riches.

And every one that has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive a hundred fold, and shall inherit eternal life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
