I cling to your testimonies; O Yahweh, do not let me be put to shame.

And I lift up my hands unto Thy commands, That I have loved, And I do meditate on Thy statutes!

[The] cords of [the] wicked surround me, [but] I do not forget your law.


The arrogant (godless) have dug pits for me,
Men who do not conform to Your law.

They have almost destroyed me here on the earth, but I do not reject your precepts.

I do not avoid your judgments, for you pointed them out to me.

My life is continually in my hand; but I do not forget thy law.


The wicked have laid a snare for me,
Yet I do not wander from Your precepts.

(Ayin) I do what is fair and right. Do not abandon me to my oppressors!

Back up your servant in a positive way; do not let the arrogant oppress me.

Look upon me, and be merciful unto me, as you do unto those that love your name.

I am small and despised: yet do not I forget thy precepts.

RESH. Consider mine affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget thy law.

Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; yet do I not decline from thy testimonies.

I do rejoice concerning Thy saying, As one finding abundant spoil.


I hope and wait [with complete confidence] for Your salvation, O Lord,
And I do Your commandments.

I keep your precepts and rules, for you are aware of everything I do.

Unto you I lift up my eyes,
O You who are enthroned in the heavens!

My heart is not haughty nor my eyes {arrogant}. And I do not {concern myself} with things too great and difficult for me.

Till I do find a place for Jehovah, Tabernacles for the Mighty One of Jacob.

If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

You carefully observe me when I travel or when I lie down to rest; you are aware of everything I do.

Yahweh, don't I hate those who hate you? Am I not grieved with those who rise up against you?

Yahweh, don't grant the desires of the wicked. Don't let their evil plans succeed, or they will become proud. Selah.

Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked deeds with men [who] do iniquity; and do not let me eat of their delicacies.


For my eyes are toward You, O God, the Lord;
In You I take refuge; do not pour out my life nor leave me defenseless.

Keep me from the jaws of the trap which they have set for me,
And from the snares of those who do iniquity.

Hurry to answer me, Yahweh. My spirit fails. Don't hide your face from me, so that I don't become like those who go down into the pit.

Exalt her, and she shall promote you: she shall bring you to honor, when you do embrace her.

You aren't thinking about where her life is headed; her steps wander, but you do not realize it.

so that you don't give your honor to others, and waste your best years;

[She is] a deer of love and a doe of grace; may her breasts satisfy you {always}; by her love may you be intoxicated continually.

Keep my commands and you'll live. Guard my teaching as you do your eyesight.

And I do see among the simple ones, I discern among the sons, A young man lacking understanding,


Suddenly he went after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter [not knowing the outcome],
Or as one in stocks going to the correction [to be given] to a fool,

The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.

If you don't have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?

"They hit me, and I was not hurt! They beat me, and I don't feel it! When will I wake up? I can do it again. I can find another."

if you say, "Look, we do not know this," does not he who weighs hearts perceive [it]? And he who keeps your soul, he knows and will repay humankind according to his deeds.

And I see -- I -- I do set my heart, I have seen -- I have received instruction,

do not hastily bring out to court, for what will you do at its end, when your neighbor puts you to shame?

When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

Surely I am beyond the senselessness of any man; I do not perceive things the way human beings do.

so that I don't become overfed and deny you by saying, "Who is the LORD?" or so that I don't become poor and steal, and then misuse the name of my God.


There are three things which are too astounding and unexpectedly wonderful for me,
Four which I do not understand:

And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done.

Be careful what you do when you go to the temple of God; draw near to listen rather than to offer a sacrifice like fools, for they do not realize that they are doing wrong.

Don't say, "Why were the former days better than these?" For you do not ask wisely about this.

Have joy with the woman of your love all the days of your foolish life which he gives you under the sun. Because that is your part in life and in your work which you do under the sun.

If the temper of the ruler rises against you, do not leave your post [showing resistance], because composure and calmness prevent great offenses.

Divide your share in seven or in eight, for you do not know what disaster will happen on the earth.

Sow your seed in the morning, and do not let your hands rest in the evening, for you do not know what will prosper-- whether this or that, or whether both of them alike will succeed.

Draw me: after thee we run, The king hath brought me into his inner chambers, We do joy and rejoice in thee, We mention thy loves more than wine, Uprightly they have loved thee!

“If you do not know [where your lover is],
O you fairest among women,
Run along, follow the tracks of the flock,
And pasture your young goats
By the tents of the shepherds.

Garlands of gold we do make for thee, With studs of silver!

I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem,
By the gazelles or by the hinds of the field,
That you do not arouse or awaken my love
Until she pleases.”

I have put off my coat: how can I do it on again? I have washed my feet, how shall I defile them again?

How is your beloved better than another beloved, you fairest among women? How is your beloved better than another beloved, that you do so adjure us? Beloved

We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?

The sinful nation is as good as dead, the people weighed down by evil deeds. They are offspring who do wrong, children who do wicked things. They have abandoned the Lord, and rejected the Holy One of Israel. They are alienated from him.

Wherefore are ye stricken any more? Ye do add apostasy! Every head is become diseased, and every heart is sick.


“What are your multiplied sacrifices to Me [without your repentance]?”
Says the Lord.
“I have had enough of [your] burnt offerings of rams
And the fat of well-fed cattle [without your obedience];
And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls or lambs or goats [offered without repentance].

And the man bowed down, and man was humbled, but You do not lift them up.

He lifteth up, in that day, saying: 'I am not a binder up, And in my house is neither bread nor garment, Ye do not make me a ruler of the people.'

And taken hold have seven women on one man, In that day, saying, 'Our own bread we do eat, And our own raiment we put on, Only, let thy name be called over us, Remove thou our reproach.'

What more could I do in my vineyard, that I haven't already done? When I expected it to produce good grapes, why did it yield wild ones?

And now I will make known to you now what I do to my vineyard, taking away its hedge, and it was for consuming, breaking down its wall, and it was for a treading down.

And He saith, 'Go, and thou hast said to this people, Hear ye -- to hear, and ye do not understand, And see ye -- to see, and ye do not know.

And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, And the head of Samaria is the son of Remaliah. If ye do not give credence, Surely ye are not stedfast.'
