But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask: are ye able to drink of the cup which I am going to drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
but Jesus called them to Him and said, Ye know that the princes of the gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority upon them:
and behold, two blind men siting by the way-side, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
And Jesus stopt and called them, and said, What do ye desire me to do for you?
And Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes; and straightway their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.
And when they drew nigh to Jerusalem and were come to Bethphage at the mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples,
And the disciples went, and did as Jesus ordered them,
And the people answered, This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee.
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and drove out all that were selling and buying in the court of the temple, and threw down the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves:
And Jesus saith unto them, Yes, have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast procured praise?
but Jesus answering said unto them, Verily I tell you, if ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only be able to do this to a fig-tree, but also if ye shall say to this mountain, "Be thou removed and cast into the sea," it shall be done.
but Jesus answered them, I also will ask you one question, which if ye tell me, I will likewise tell you by what authority I do these things.
And therefore in answer to Jesus, they said, We do not know: and He said unto them, Neither do I tell you, by what authority I do these things.
Now which of the two did the will of his father? They say unto Him, The first. Jesus replied, Verily I say unto you, that publicans and prostitutes enter into the kingdom of God before you:
Then saith Jesus to them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, "The stone which the builders refused, is made the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?"
And Jesus resuming his discourse spake unto them again in parables,
But Jesus knew their malice, and said, Why do ye tempt me, ye hypocrites?
But Jesus answered them, Ye are mistaken, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God:
And Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind: this is the first and great command.
Now while the pharisees were thus gathered together, Jesus asked them,
Then spake Jesus to the people and to his disciples, saying,
And as Jesus went out, and was departing from the temple, his disciples came to observe to Him the magnificent buildings.
But Jesus said unto them, Do ye see all these things? Verily I tell you, there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be demolished.
And Jesus answered them, See that no one deceive you:
And when Jesus had finished these discourses, He said to his disciples,
and were consulting how they might take Jesus by treachery and put Him to death.
And when Jesus was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
But Jesus, knowing what passed, said to them, Why do ye give the woman uneasiness? for she has done a good office to me:
Now upon the first day of the feast of unleavened bread, came the disciples to Jesus, saying, where wouldest thou have us make preparation for thee to eat the passover?
And He said, Go into the city, to such a man, and tell him, The master saith, my time is near, I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples: and the disciples did as Jesus ordered them,
Now as they were at table, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body:
Then saith Jesus unto them, Ye will all take offence at me this night; for it is written, "I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered:"
Jesus said unto him, Verily I tell thee that this night, before the cock crow, thou wilt deny me thrice.
Then went Jesus with them to a place called Gethsemane, and saith to the disciples, Sit here, while I go there and pray:
and going directly up to Jesus, he said, Hail master, and kissed Him.
And Jesus said to him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? then they came up and laid hands on Jesus, and apprehended Him.
And one of them that were with Jesus, stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and striking at the high priest's servant took off his ear.
Then said Jesus to him, Put up thy sword into it's place; for they that take the sword shall perish by the sword:
Then said Jesus to the multitudes, Ye are come out as against a thief with swords and clubs to take me, whereas I sat with you day after day teaching in the temple, and ye did not seize me: but all this is done,
Then all the disciples deserted Him and fled. And they, that apprehended Jesus, led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled:
Now the chief priests and elders, and the whole council sought false-witness against Jesus, that they might put Him to death: but found none.
And the high priest stood up and said to Him, Dost thou make no answer? what do these men testify against thee? but Jesus made no reply.
Jesus saith unto him, It is as thou hast said: and I tell you, hereafter ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.
Now Peter was sitting without in the hall, and one of the maids came to him and said, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee:
And he went out into the porch; after which another maid saw him, and said to them that were there, This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth:
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, who had said to him, before the cock crow, thou wilt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
And as soon as it was morning all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, how to get Him executed:
And Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked Him, saying, Art thou the king of the Jews? And Jesus answered him, It is as thou sayest.
Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ? for he knew that out of envy they had delivered Him up.
But the chief priests and elders persuaded the common people to ask for Barabbas, and so to destroy Jesus.
What shall I do then, saith Pilate, with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all cried out, Let Him be crucified.
Then he released to them Barabbas: but he ordered Jesus to be scourged, and delivered Him to be crucified.
Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the hall, and gathered the whole band about Him:
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani," that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
But Jesus cried out again with a loud voice; and then gave up the ghost.
And when the centurion, and they that were with him guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake, and what was done, they were sore afraid, and said, This was indeed the Son of God.
And several women were there looking on at a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministring unto Him:
And in the evening, there came a rich man of Arimathea, whose name was Joseph, who also himself was a disciple of Jesus, and went to Pilate,
and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered the body to be delivered to him;
and the angel said to the women, Be not ye afraid: for I know that ye seek Jesus who was crucified.
And as they were going to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them and said, God save you. And they drew near and embraced his feet, and worshipped Him.
Then saith Jesus unto them, Be not afraid, go tell my brethren to repair into Galilee, and there they shall see me.
And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me both in heaven and on earth.
The beginning of the gospel of JESUS CHRIST the Son of GOD.
And in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in Jordan:
Now after John was cast into prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
(for they were fishermen,) and Jesus said unto them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men:
and he cried out, saying, Let us alone, what have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee, who thou art, the holy one of God.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him: and the impure spirit threw him into convulsions,
and Jesus, being moved with compassion, stretched out his hand and touched him, and saith unto Him, I will;
But when he was gone he began to publish it much, and to spread abroad the report: so that Jesus could no more go openly into the city, but kept out in country places: and they came to Him from all parts.
And Jesus, seeing their faith, saith to him that had the palsy, Son, thy sins are forgiven thee.
And Jesus, who knew immediately in his spirit that they were thus reasoning within themselves, said unto them, Why do ye dispute these things in your hearts?
And as He sat at table in his house, many publicans and sinners also sat down with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed Him.
Which Jesus hearing, saith unto them, They that are in health have no need of a physician, but they that are ill: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.
And Jesus said unto them, Can the bridemen fast, when the bridegroom is with them? while the bridegroom is with them, they cannot fast:
But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped Him,
and crying out with a loud voice said, Jesus thou Son of the most high God, what have I to do with thee? I adjure thee by God, that thou wouldst not torment me:
And immediately Jesus permitted them: and the impure spirits went out of the man, and entered into the swine; and the herd (which were about two thousand,) ran violently down a precipice into the sea, and were suffocated.
and they come to Jesus, and see the demoniac, who had been possessed by the legion, sitting and clothed, and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
but Jesus did not permit him; but saith to him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee:
and he departed, and published in Decapolis, how great things Jesus had done for him, and they were all amazed.
And when Jesus passed over again in the ship to the other side, a great multitude was gathered unto Him, nigh unto the sea.
So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him, and pressed about Him.
when she heard of Jesus, came behind Him in the croud, and touched his garment; for she said,
And immediately Jesus, knowing in Himself that power was gone out of Him, turned about in the croud and said, Who touched my clothes?
But Jesus hearing the word that was spoken, immediately saith to the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe:
But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is nowhere less honoured, than in his own country, and among his relations, and his own family.
And the apostles came together to Jesus, and told Him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
And when Jesus came out of the ship, He saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion towards them; because they were as sheep without a shepherd: and He began to teach them many things.
But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be satisfied: for it is not fit to take the children's bread, and throw it to the dogs.
In those days, there being again a very great multitude, and they having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to Him,
And Jesus knowing it saith unto them, What are ye reasoning about? because ye have no bread? Do ye not yet discern nor understand? have ye your heart still hardened?
Then Jesus and his disciples went out into the towns of Cesarea Philippi: and by the way He asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I am?
