When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.
This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples; and there they stayed for a few days.
Then the Jews said to him, "What sign do you show to us, since you do this?"
Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."
The Jews then said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?"
When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.
This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him."
And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
After this Jesus and his disciples went into the land of Judea, and there he remained with them and baptized.
He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now full.
Jesus answered her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again,
The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw."
for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly."
Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship."
Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
"Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?"
They said to the woman, "We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man is indeed the Savior of the world."
This was now the second sign that Jesus did when he had come from Judea to Galilee.
After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been in this condition for a long time, he said to him, "Do you want to be made well?"
For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.
Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in the graves will hear his voice
Not that the testimony which I receive is from man; but I say this that you may be saved.
After this Jesus went to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias.
But this he said to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.
When the people saw the sign that Jesus did, they said, "Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world."
Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."
And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up at the last day.
For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."
They said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, 'I have come down from heaven'?"
This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh."
Then the Jews began to argue among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
This is the bread which came down from heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna and died. He who eats this bread will live for ever."
This he said in the synagogue as he taught in Capernaum.
Many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, "This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?"
When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples complained about this, he said to them, "Does this offend you?
And he said, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it has been granted to him by the Father."
From this time many of his disciples went back and no longer walked with him.
After this Jesus went about in Galilee; he would not go about in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
You go up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come."
And the Jews marveled, saying, "How did this man get such learning, having never studied?"
Then some of the people of Jerusalem said, "Is not this the man whom they seek to kill?
But we know where this man is from; when the Christ comes, no one will know where he is from."
And many of the people believed in him, and they said, "When the Christ comes, will he do more signs than this man has done?"
The Jews said to one another, "Where does this man intend to go that we shall not find him? Does he intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?
Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive; for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
When they heard these words, some of the people said, "Surely this is the prophet."
Others said, "This is the Christ." But some said, "Will the Christ come from Galilee?
The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this man!"
But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed."
they said to him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.
They said this to test him, that they might have something of which to accuse him. But Jesus bent down and wrote on the ground with his finger.
He said to them, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.
but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did.
And his disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"
Jesus answered, "Neither this man sinned nor his parents sinned. But that the works of God might be revealed in him,
As he said this, he spat on the ground and made clay of the saliva, and anointed the man's eyes with the clay.
The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar, said, "Is not this the man who used to sit and beg?"
Some of the Pharisees said, "This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath." But others said, "How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?" And there was a division among them.
And they asked them, "Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?"
His parents answered, "We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
His parents said this because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that he was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.
So for the second time they called the man who had been blind, and said to him, "Give God the glory; we know that this man is a sinner."
We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we do not know where he comes from."
The man answered, "Why, this is a marvel! You do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes.
If this man were not from God, he could do nothing."
Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind."
Then some of the Pharisees who were with him heard this, and said to him, "Are we blind also?"
This figure Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.
And I have other sheep that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
For this reason my Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from my Father."
And many came to him and they said, "John performed no sign, but all that John said about this man was true."
It was this Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
When Jesus heard it, he said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it."

And when she had said this, she went her way and called Mary her sister, saying, "The Teacher is here and is calling for you."
But some of them said, "Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?"
Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, "Lord, by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been dead four days."
I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing by, that they may believe that you sent me."
When he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!"
Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, "What are we to do? For this man performs many signs.
If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation."
He did not say this on his own, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,
"Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?"
