For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised to show God's truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs, and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written: "Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name";

In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. When you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our sins, having canceled the certificate of debt, which stood against us with its decrees. He took what was hostile away from us, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them through him.
