Thematic Bible

For I have been informed about you, my brothers, by Chloe's people, that there are wranglings among you. I mean this, that one of you says, "I belong to Paul's party," another, "And I belong to Apollos' party," another, "And I belong to Cephas' party," another, "And I belong to Christ's party."

For when one says, "I belong to Paul's party," and another, "I belong to Apollos' party," are you not acting as mere human creatures? Then what is Apollos? Or what is Paul? Mere servants through whom you came to believe, as the Lord gave each of us his task. I did the planting, Apollos did the watering, but it was God who kept the plants growing.

As for our brother Apollos, I have earnestly urged him to go to see you, but he is not at all inclined to come just now; yet he is coming when he has a good opportunity. Verse ConceptsApollosRight Time For People

Meanwhile, a Jew named Apollos came to Ephesus. He was a native of Alexandria, a learned man, and skillful in the use of the Scriptures. He had been instructed about the way of the Lord, and with spiritual fervor he was speaking and was accurately teaching some details about Jesus, although he knew of no baptism but John's.

He started speaking courageously in the synagogue, but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him home with them and more accurately explained the way of God to him. Whoever claims to be in the light, and yet continues to hate his brother is still in darkness. Whoever continues to love his brother is always in the light, and he is no hindrance to others.

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love our brothers. Whoever does not continue to love continues still in death. Anyone who keeps on hating his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer can have eternal life remaining in him. We know what love is from the fact that He laid down His life for us; and so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. read more.
But if anyone has the world's means of supporting life and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how can love to God remain in him? Dear children, let us stop loving with words or lips alone, but let us love with actions and in truth.

Dearly beloved, let us practice loving one another, because love originates with God, and everyone who practices loving is a child of God and knows God by experience. Whoever does not love has never come to know God by experience, because God is love. This is the way God's love for us has been shown, namely, God has sent His only Son into the world that we through Him might have life. read more.
In this way is seen the true love, not that we loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dearly beloved, if God has loved us so, we ought to love one another too.
