Thus saith the LORD: I will return to Zion and will dwell in the middle of Jerusalem. And Jerusalem shall be called the city of truth and the hill of the LORD Sabaoth and a holy hill. Verse ConceptsNames For JerusalemNames And Titles For The ChurchGod's TruthGod Lives In Jerusalemjerusalemzion

But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's seat: nor yet by the earth; for it is His footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of that great King:

For the LORD hath chosen Zion, to be a habitation for himself; he hath longed for her. "This shall be my rest; here will I dwell, for I have a delight therein. I will bless her victuals with increase, and will satisfy her poor with bread.

and said to Jeroboam, "Take thee ten pieces. For this sayeth the LORD God of Israel, 'Behold, I will rent the kingdom out of the hands of Solomon and will give ten tribes to thee, and he shall have one, for my servant David's sake and for Jerusalem the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel: because they have forsaken me, and have bowed themselves unto Ashtaroth the God of the Sidonians, and to Chemosh the God of the Moabites and to Milcom the God of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that pleaseth me, and mine ordinances and customs, as David his father. read more.
Howbeit, I will take none of the kingdom out of his hand: but will make him chief all his life long, for David my servant's sake, which I chose: because he kept my commandments and ordinances. But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand and will give unto thee ten tribes of it: and will give his son one, that David my servant may have a light always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me, to put my name there.

O ye shrinking children, turn again, sayeth the LORD: and I will be married with you. For I will take one out of the city, and two out of one generation from among you, and bring you out of Zion: and I will give you herdsmen after mine own mind, which shall feed you with learning and wisdom. Moreover, when ye be increased and multiplied in the land, then, sayeth the LORD, there shall no more boast be made of the ark of the LORD's Covenant: No man shall think upon it, neither shall any man make mention of it: for from thenceforth it shall neither be visited, nor honored with gifts. read more.
Then shall Jerusalem be called the LORD's seat, and all Heathen shall be gathered unto it, for the name of the LORD's sake, which shall be set up at Jerusalem. And from that time forth, they shall follow no more the imagination of their own froward heart.

Bring forth therefore the fruits belonging to repentance: And see that you think not to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father': for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the Prophets: No, I am not come to destroy them but to fulfill them. For truly I say unto you, till heaven and earth perish, one jot or one tittle of the law shall not escape till all be fulfilled. Whosoever breaketh one of these least commandments, and teacheth men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But whosoever observeth, and teacheth the same, shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

"Ye have heard how it was said unto them of the old time, 'Thou shalt not kill; for whosoever killeth shall be in danger of judgment:' But I say unto you, Whosoever is angry with his brother shall be in danger of judgment: whosoever sayeth unto his brother, 'Raca,' shall be in danger of a council: but whosoever sayeth, 'Thou fool,' shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore when thou offerest thy gift at the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; read more.
leave there thine offering before the altar, and go thy way first, and be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest that adversary deliver ye to the judge, and the judge deliver ye to the minister, and then thou be cast into prison. I say unto ye verily, Thou shalt not come out thence, till thou have paid the utmost farthing. "Ye have heard how it was said to them of old time, 'Thou shalt not commit adultery:' But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a wife lusting after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Wherfore if thy right eye offend thee, pluck him out, and cast him from thee: better it is for thee that one of thy members perish, than that thy whole body should be cast into hell. Also: if thy right hand offend thee, cut him off, and cast him from thee: better it is that one of thy members perish than that all thy body should be cast into hell. It is said, Whosoever put away his wife let him give her a testimonial also of the divorcement. But I say unto you, Whosoever put away his wife, except it be for fornication, causeth her to break matrimony. And whosoever marryeth her that is divorced breaketh wedlock. "Again, ye have heard how it was said to them of old time, 'Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform thine oath to God': But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's seat: nor yet by the earth; for it is His footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of that great King: neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one white hair or black: But your communication shall be, 'Yea, Yea; Nay, nay': for whatsoever is more than that cometh of evil. "Ye have heard how it is said, 'An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, That ye resist not wrong. But whosoever give thee a blow on thy right cheek, turn to him the other. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever will compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh, and from him that would borrow, turn not away. "Ye have heard how it is said, 'Thou shalt love thine neighbor, and hate thine enemy.' But I say unto you, Love your enemies. Bless them that curse you. Do good to them that hate you. Pray for them which do you wrong and persecute you;

No man pieceth an old garment with a piece of new cloth. For then taketh he away the piece again from the garment, and the rent is made greater. Neither do men put new wine into old vessels: for then the vessels break, and the wine runneth out, and the vessels perish: but they pour new wine into new vessels, and so are both saved together."

If thou make a vow unto God, be not slack to perform it. As for foolish vows, he hath no pleasure in them. If thou promise anything, pay it; for better it is that thou make no vow than that thou shouldest promise, and not pay. Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh for to sin, neither say thou before the angel that it is thy ignorance. For then God will be angry at thy voice, and destroy all the works of thine hands.
