For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Verse Concepts

For it stands in scripture, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a chosen [and] precious cornerstone, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame." Verse Concepts

Truly, truly I say to you that the one who hears my word and who believes the one who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Verse Concepts

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. The one who has ears, let him hear! Verse Concepts

I was a youth, but I am [now] old; yet I have not seen [the] righteous forsaken or his children {begging for} bread. Verse Concepts

He who walks in his integrity [is] righteous; happy are his children who follow him. Verse Concepts

He who walks [in] righteousness and speaks uprightness, who rejects [the] gain of extortion, who {refuses} bribe, who stops up his ears from hearing {bloodshed} and shuts his eyes from seeing evil. That one will live [on the] heights; [the] fortresses of rocks [will be] his refuge. His food [will] be given; his waters [will] endure.

{He gives lavishly} to the needy; his righteousness endures forever. His horn rises high in honor. Verse Concepts

A person of blessing will be enriched, and he who gives water also will be refreshed. Verse Concepts

[For] he who gives to the poor, there is no lacking, but [for] he who turns his eyes, [there are] many curses. Verse Concepts

Send out your bread on the water, for in many days you will find it. Divide your share in seven or in eight, for you do not know what disaster will happen on the earth.

Blessed [is] the person who endures testing, because [when he] is approved he will receive the crown of life that he has promised to those who love him. Verse Concepts

Finally, the crown of righteousness is reserved for me, that the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all who have loved his appearing. Verse Concepts

I know that Yahweh will maintain [the] cause of [the] afflicted, [and] justice for [the] needy. Verse Concepts

But he shall judge [the] poor with righteousness, and he shall decide for [the] needy of [the] earth with rectitude. And he shall strike [the] earth with the rod of his mouth, and he shall kill [the] wicked person with the breath of his lips. Verse Concepts

You would put to shame [the] plan of [the] poor, because Yahweh [is] his refuge. Verse Concepts

"Because of [the] oppression of [the] afflicted, because of [the] groaning of [the] poor, now I will rise up," Yahweh says. "I shall put [them] in [the] safety [for which] they long." Verse Concepts

Your community dwelled in it. You provided in your goodness for the poor, O God. Verse Concepts

because Yahweh hears [the] needy and does not despise his [own who are] prisoners. Verse Concepts

for he stands at [the] right [hand] of [the] needy, to save [him] from those judging his life. Verse Concepts

The poor and the needy [are] seeking water and [there is] none; their tongue is dried up with thirst. I, Yahweh, will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. Verse Concepts

For you have been a refuge to the poor, a refuge to the needy in his distress, a shelter from [the] rainstorm, a shade from [the] heat. For [the] breath of [the] ruthless [was] like a rainstorm against a wall, Verse Concepts

Listen, my dear brothers! Did not God choose the poor of the world [to be] rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him? Verse Concepts

And he saves from the sword of their mouth, {even} [the] poor from the hand of the strong. Verse Concepts

I will also clothe its priests with salvation, and its faithful will shout exuberantly for joy. Verse Concepts

For Yahweh loves justice and will not forsake his faithful ones. They are protected forever. But [the] children of [the] wicked will be cut off. Verse Concepts
