otherwise it would have been necessary for him to suffer many times since the foundation of the world; but now once in the consummation of the ages he has appeared to abolish sin by the sacrifice of himself.





and shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify; ; and the third day he shall rise again.

But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

And as they came down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen until the Son of man was risen from the dead.

But after I have risen, I will go before you into Galilee.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Dissolve this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Having, therefore, obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said should come: that the Christ should suffer and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead and should show light unto this people and to the Gentiles.


And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

And when he had sent the multitude away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray; and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

And Jesus left there and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee and went up into the mountain and sat down there.

And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, his brother, and brought them apart up into a high mountain

And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way and said unto them,

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place and rest a while; for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

And from there he arose and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entering into a house, desired that no man know of it; but he could not be hid.




And blessed is he who is not offended in me.


Then he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock to cause a fall to both the houses of Israel, for a snare and for a net to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour except in his own country and in his own house.

Why? Because they followed it not by faith but, as it were, by the works (of the law); therefore, they stumbled on the stumblingstone;

and a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, even to those who stumble at the word, not obeying in that for which they were ordained.


For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him and came and fell at his feet;

And, behold, a leper came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou art willing, thou art able to cleanse me.

While he spoke these things unto them, behold, a certain ruler came and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead; but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

Then she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, worshipping him and desiring a certain thing of him.

And one of the princes of the synagogue came, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet



I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things doing whatever he shall say unto you.

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

I have many things to say and to judge regarding you, but he that sent me is true; and those things which I have heard of him, I speak in the world.



He that does not love me does not keep my words, and the word which ye have heard is not mine, but of the Father who sent me.



And he saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor; therefore his arm brought salvation unto him, and his righteous ness, it sustained him.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper and shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.






And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of Judea and in Jerusalem, whom they slew hanging him on a tree. This same one God raised up the third day and showed him openly, not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.


him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain, whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death because it was not possible for him to be held by it.

But ye denied the Holy One and the Just and desired a murderer to be granted unto you and killed the Author of life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, declaring openly and proposing that it behooved the Christ to have suffered and risen again from the dead and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is the Christ.



So they went and made the sepulchre secure, sealing the stone and setting a watch.

And having said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself; handle me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as ye see me have.


And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads

Let the Christ, King of Israel, descend now from the stake that we may see and believe. And those that were crucified with him reviled him.

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou art the Christ, save thyself and us.


He is not here, for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

But he said unto them, Do not be frightened; Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified; he is risen; he is not here; behold the place where they laid him.

He is not here, but is risen; remember how he spoke unto you when he was yet in Galilee,



Therefore Jesus said, Let her alone; against the day of my burying she has kept this;



And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and suffer you? Bring thy son here.


Finally he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at the table and upbraided them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they did not believe those who had seen him after he was risen.


Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye have seen the signs, but because ye ate of the loaves and were filled.


And he, turning about and looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter, saying, Get thyself from me, Satan, for thou knowest not the things that are of God, but the things that are of men.


And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a Pythian spirit met us, which brought her masters much gain by divination: she followed Paul and us and cried out, saying, These men are the slaves of the most high God, who announce unto us the way of deliverance. And she did this for many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
