I am the Good Shepherd; and I know My own, and My own know Me, even as the Father knoweth Me, and I know the Father; and I lay down My soul for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and they shall become one flock, one Shepherd.read more.
On this account My Father loveth Me, because I lay down My soul, that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it again. This commandment I received from My Father.
and He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to Him Who died for them, and rose again.
But we behold Him Who was made a little lower than angels, Jesus, on account of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, that, by the grace of God, He might taste death for every one.
In this we have known the love, that He laid down His soul in our behalf; and we ought to lay down our souls in behalf of the brethren.
For I delivered to you, among the first things, that which also I received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures;
For, what was impossible under law, wherein it was weak through the flesh. God, sending His Own Son in likeness of sinful flesh, and, respecting sin, condemned sin in the flesh;
Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us out of the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father;
because Christ also suffered for sins once, a Righteous One in behalf of the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,
Much more, therefore, being now justified by His blood, shall we be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
And they sing a new song, saying, "Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to open its seals; because Thou wast slain, and didst redeem to God, by Thy blood, some of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation;
But now, in Christ Jesus, ye who were once afar off were made nigh in the blood of Christ.
knowing that, not with perishable things, with silver or gold, were ye redeemed from your vain course of life handed down from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot;
but, if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with One another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
And I have said to him, "My lord, you know." And he said to me, "These are those who come out of the great tribulation; and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus, in the same night in which He was being betrayed, took bread; and, having given thanks, He broke it, and said, "This is My body which is for you; this do in remembrance of Me." In like manner also the cup, after supper, saying "This cup is the New Covenant in My blood; this do, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me:"
And, as they were eating, Jesus, taking a loaf and blessing it, broke it, and giving to his disciples, said, "Take, eat, this is My body." And, taking a cup, and offering thanks, He gave to the disciples, saying, "Drink of it, all ye; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is shed in behalf of many for remission of sins.
And, as they were eating, having taken bread and blessed it, He broke, and gave to them, and said, "Take ye; this is My body." And taking a cup, and blessing it, He gave it to them; and they all drank of it. And He said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out in behalf of many.
And, taking bread, and giving thanks, He broke, and gave to them, saying, "This is My body, which is given for you; this do in remembrance of Me." And the cup, in like manner, after supper, saying "this cup is the new covenant in My blood, which, in your behalf, is being poured out.
Whom God set forth as a propitiation, through faith in His blood, for the manifestation of His righteousness, because of the passing over of the formerly-committed sins in the forbearance of God:
Purge out the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, even as ye are unleavened. For our passover was sacrificed, even, Christ;
and walk in love, as Christ also loved you, and delivered Himself up for you, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of sweet smell.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son, to be a propitiation for our sins.
And I saw, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent forth into all the earth.

Take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock in which the Holy Spirit appointed you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of God, which He purchased with His own blood.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; because it has been written, "Cursed is every one who is hung upon a tree"; that to the gentiles the blessing of Abraham might come in Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
in Whom we have our redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace,
Who delivered us out of the dominion of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love; in Whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins;
Him Who knew no sin He made to be sin on our behalf, that we may become God's righteousness in Him.
for we have not a High Priest, unable to sympathize with our infirmities, but One Who hath been tempted in all points like as we, apart from sin.
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth; Who, when reviled, reviled not again; when suffering, was not threatening, but committed Himself to Him Who judgeth righteously; Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by Whose bruise ye were healed.
And ye know that He was manifested, that He might take away sins; and in Him is no sin.
For such a High Priest was befitting us, holy, harmless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who hath no necessity daily, as the high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for his own sins, and then for those of the people (for this He did once for all, when He offered up Himself); for the law constitutes men high priests who have infirmity, but the word of the oath, which was after the law, constitutes the Son perfected forever.
but now he hath obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much also as He is Mediator of a better covenant, which, indeed, has been enacted on better promises. For, if that first covenant had been faultless, place would not be sought for a second;
And, for this cause, He is the Mediator of a new covenant, that, death having taken place for redemption from the transgressions against the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
Now as a main point to the things being spoken, we have such a High Priest, Who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in Heaven, a Minister of the holy things, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.
For Christ entered not into holy places made with hand, patterns of the true; but into Heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God in our behalf;
nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, entered, once for all, into the Holies, having obtained eternal redemption. For, if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctifies to the purification of the flesh; how much more shall the blood of Christ, Who through the Eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
And every priest, indeed, stands daily ministering, and ofttimes offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but This Man, having offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God; from henceforth awaiting until His foes shall be placed as a footstool for His feet.read more.
For by one offering He hath perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
Having, therefore, brethren, boldness for the entrance into the holy places by the blood of Jesus, which He dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is, His flesh;
What, then, shall we say? Shall we persist in sin, that grace may abound? It could not be! How shall we, who died to sin, live any longer therein? Or are ye ignorant, that all we who were immersed into Christ Jesus were immersed into His death?read more.
We were buried, therefore, with Him through the immersion into death; that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. For, if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be brought to nought, that we should no more be in bondage to sin; for he that died has been justified from sin.
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that ye might be joined to another??o Him Who was raised from the dead??hat we might bear fruit to God. For, when we were in the flesh, the passions of sins, which were through the law, were working in our members to bring forth fruit to death. But now we have been fully discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
For I through law died to law, that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and no longer am I living, but Christ is living in me; and, in so far as I am now living in flesh, I live in the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me.
But it could not be that I should glory, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has become crucified to me, and I to the world.
and raised us up with Him, and made us sit with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus; that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
