But Jesus, hearing it, answered him, "Fear not; only believe; and she shall be made whole!"
for God sent not His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world may be saved through Him. He that believes on Him is not judged; he that believes not has been judged already, because he has not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And, hearing this, they were pricked in the heart, and said to Peter, and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren! what shall we do?" And Peter said to them, "Repent, and be immersed each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, unto remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit; for the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all those afar off??s many as the Lord our God shall call to Him."
See that ye refuse not Him Who speaketh; for, if those escaped not, when refusing him who warned them on earth, much more shall not we escape, who turn away from Him Who warneth us from Heaven;
to Whom coming, a Living Stone, rejected, indeed, by men, but with God Elect, Precious, ye yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Because it is contained in Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion a Chief Corner-Stone, Elect, Precious; and he who believes on Him shall in nowise be put to shame."read more.
To you, therefore, who believe is the preciousness; but to those who disbelieve, a stone which the builders rejected, this was made into a head of a corner," and "a stone of stumbling, and rock of offense"; who stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which also they were appointed.
He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself; he that believes not God has made Him a liar; because he has not believed in the testimony that God testified concerning His Son.
