When he thus spake unto them, the lawyers and the Pharisees began to wax busy about him, and to stop his mouth with many questions; Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something of his mouth, whereby they might accuse him.

Then came to him the Pharisees with the Sadducees also, and did tempt him, desiring him to show them some sign from heaven.

And some of the Pharisees of the company, said unto him, "Master, rebuke thy disciples."

The Pharisees said unto him, "Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true."

For he that I must give answer unto, and with whom I go to law, is not a man as I am.

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?" And he said, "What art thou, Lord?" And the Lord said, "I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it shall be hard for thee to kick against the prick."

and tarried behind; himself alone. And there wrestled a man with him unto the breaking of the day.

And with thy great glory thou hast destroyed thine adversaries! Thou sentest forth thy wrath and it consumed them, even as stubble.

But seeing that God will sit in judgment, what shall I do? And for so much as he will needs visit me, what answer shall I give him?

If thou canst, then give me answer: prepare thyself to stand before me face to face.

Arise, LORD, disappoint him, and cast him down; deliver my soul with thy sword from the ungodly -

Tread out of the way, go out of the path, turn the holy one of Israel from us."

I myself have laid wait for thee, and thou art taken. Unawares art thou trapped and snared. For why, thou hast provoked the LORD unto anger:

Forasmuch then as God gave them like gifts, as he did unto us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ: what was I that I should have withstood God?"
